It all depends how Gosho plans to time all the character appearances and cases. Sadly all these breaks are going to make him change the longer cases (7+ chapters) into smaller 4-chapter cases. Notice how Mystery Train was 7 and the finale, Scarlet Series, was only 4 if you count the epilogue. The prologue was part of the case before it.

894 (1), 895 (2), 896 (3), 897 (4), 898 (5).

You mean it's 4 if you don't count the epilogue, and 5 if you do.

More on topic, are there...

Spoiler:
Already screenshots of the post-credit teaser? Probably not yet, this early, but I can't wait to see it.

If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

Hopefully, by then, we'll have more info on Rum—if not, then Rum won't have a role to play.

Movie 20
Spoiler:
Any deviations in canon will be ones that can't really affect the overarching plot—like Kid finding out Conan=Shinichi. Probably, Shinichi/Conan will have to do something that gets suspicion off of Bourbon and Kir. Whether Shuichi/Subaru, Masumi, and the Mysterious Child will be involved is anyone's guess, but since Movie 20 is about the Organization, I'd expect at least some connecting elements like them to appear. Also as per usual, any manga spoilers in the film will be according to Gosho's instructions. Fortunately, he has a year to write/draw more chapters.
On a side note, so far, the Organization's appearances in films has been 5, 13, and 20—will Detective Conan still be going so they can appear again in Movie 27 or 28? (Come on, I know you want to say "yes." ;))
Yes. If only because they make so much money.

Hey guys. Sorry I took so long to write this, even though there really isn't much I can write, but as for the teaser for movie 20...
Spoiler:
there was a shot of a glass of Bourbon.
. When I saw that, my eyes lit up and thought, "Movie 20 will probably super awesome since it'll be the anime series' 20th anniversary anyway, so yeah. lol

As for movie 19, like I said, I really need to watch this film again. Friday night, I returned home very late. Like at 3:00 in the morning, fell asleep at about 5:00, woke up at 9:00 for work, didn't get any rest or sleep and was partially out of it while watching while trying my best to pay attention. This was my first time watching one of the DC movies focused around Kaitou Kid without subtitles. To be honest, I generally follow murder mysteries easier than stuff invovling Kid without subs for some reason. I did figure out one of the culprits right off the bat and I even figured out the obligatory Agasa riddle to the kids thing. It was really easy. lol That's a first for me.

Anyway, I'm not big on Kid's character in a general sense, but if you're a big Kid fan you may enjoy this a lot since it was deviating from the norm, which is why I was interested in this particular film. It was coming across as different from the other Kid cases. No jewels or anything like that, just him after the paintings. The reason I want to see this again is because I didn't fully understand Kid's motives for going after them in the first place
Spoiler:
in the beginning of the film, he shows up in New York after Jirokichi's auction as Kid - Sonoko admiring him of course - who left his card saying he was going to steal the paintings, the cops and stuff went after him, they were going to shoot him of course, but he got away, and then Shinichi suddenly showed up and they're taking the plane back to Haneda airport, but Shinichi Kid blows off the door of the plane, which ends up damaging the one of the engines and the plane nearly crashes killing everyone, even though it was unintentional, just so he could steal the Van Gogh painting....very unlike him, which means he was super serious and after such an event, they were referring to Kid as a terrorist and a murderer since he'd almost killed the passengers in the plane, but Sonoko wouldn't hear of it and told them that he wasn't like that as she was on the plane too as she knows, like most, that Kid doesn't kill people
and, like I said, I was so exhausted and half-sleepy during the middle part of the film. I know I nodded off, despite my interest as I wasn't bored or anything. I woke up, I saw Ran and everyone back. lol I was like, "Wait, when did they get back into the story. Wait, Kid is back and disguised as Shinichi again and
Spoiler:
risking his life in a fire to save the painting?"
Sorry for not spoiler tagging part of that, but I'm sure EVERYONE knows that if it's a movie with Kid, that he'll disguise himself as Shinichi at some point. Oh, speaking of that...
Spoiler:
Kid saves Ran's life, but she's so out of it, she thought it was Shinichi, so maybe Kaito Kid x Ran fans will appreciate that. There was this one moment where Ran hugged Shinichi Kid and Conan's look was priceless, imo. lol

But...prior to that, Kid, Ran, and Conan were trapped in that supe secure building that had caught fire. Eacn of the seven paintings had a saftey mechanism built in. If something happened, it'll be transported to another room that's safe or whatever. One of the paintings were stuck, and the place had caught fire. Everyone was evacuating the building, but Conan stayed back, realizing that Shinichi Kid wasn't with them and Ran realized that Conan wasn't with them, so she went back. You see Kid desperately trying to save the painting despite the fire. The mechanism to transport it was stuck. Conan, of course, was like they have to go and stuff. Next, Ran showed up and realized what was going on. She then used her karate to break the wall, which does work, so that the painting can fall through the tunnel or whatever that was connected to it. Doing so, though, knocked Ran out as the building was collapsing. So later on, they were all trapped. Things were getting worse, and like I said, I was still drowsy, so...gomen. ^^ I'm pretty sure Kid wanted to leave the unconscious Ran behind because there was nothing that could be done, but of course Conan wouldn't stand for that. Later, Shinichi Kid as Kid, does try saving them. They place was collapsing more so he used his glider as both Ran and Conan were falling. He swooped down and caught the unconscious Ran in his arms, but missed Conan, who continued falling. He escaped with Ran and everyone could see him. I wonder what Sonoko would've said if she hadn't have been worried about Ran and Conan's safety. lol So yeah, Conan ends up at the bottom and used his suspenders to save himself from hitting the bottom and stuff.

He comes across the final painting and was trying to push it out of the way. The room was filling with water fast. He had to think of something. It was much too heavy for him to move. Meanwhile, everyone outside was looking for Ran. Kid left her and hid. Ran finally woke up and said Shinichi saved her. Genta explained that Kid with his glider had saved her. They then all were wondering where Conan was and it hit them that he was still trapped inside. Even Ai looked super worried seeing how much the place was collapsing on itself. Kid from his spot looked upset that he couldn't save Conan. Ayumi was really upset and hearing Mitsuhiko telling her that everything would be okay, while trying not to break himself, even though he was, was a bit unsettling. Just the way he said it, as this really did feel like there was no way Conan was going to reemerge at all or in any way.

Back at the place, Conan remembered his Hanabi Soccer Ball and used the impact from that (underwater) to blow him and the painting forward. He was holding on, but he was soon losing his breath. He was so close to the surface...but he ran out of breath and as a last ditch effor, relased another one of the soccer balls...but like a balloon, inflatable type and it floated him up to the surface. Kogoro jumped into the water happy and brought him back to shore.
So yeah, as you can see, I really need to find the time to rewatch this, but I doubt I'll have the chance anytime soon. I'm still in limbo. I'm not sure about my job situation still and have less than two weeks left here in Japan, unless by some miracle I find a new job before then.

Haven't even watch movie 19 and I'm already thinking about movie 20 :P
If KID ever appears again in future movies he better not disguised as Shinichi. HE'S DONE IT 4/5 TIMES ALREADY! STOP! IT'S NOT FUNNY!

So movie 20 will kinda be like movie 13 or 18 looks like....
....either the plot will come super close to the main manga plot and completly avoid it like movie 13 or it'll give us some hints and glimps that won't spoil the manga like movie 18.

I'm just so excited Bourbon is coming to the big screen, he has quickly risen to one of my top favorite characters in Conan.

I've always liked Amuro myself. He's like Pariston from HxH except with more screentime... Also kind of like a more serious Alibaba from Magi who is great also.

Anyway, if the movie is about Bourbon I guess we'll be getting his flashback around that time but I guess we'll have to wait and see what it connects to and all that...

Movie 18 also explained why Akai is called the silver bullet which was cool.

Predictability should be expected by now. It's no different from the majority of the murder cases ALWAYS having three suspects. It's just become expected, but at least in the Lupin vs Conan movie, Kid was imitated and bothered by it. lol

I hope it's like movie 13 and 18. Maybe the next film will also have some Ai focus. She needs it. I hope for it to involve a lot of her being a target and all. I also hope the FBI shows up. What about Kir? Seriously, so many opportunities!

I can't believe my hunch actually happened. A BO movie, huh?

I'm just hoping it lives up to the greatness of Movie 18. ^_^

Out of curiosity, has anyone else seen movie 19 yet who can fill in what I obviously missed? It's just crazy (in an interesting way) how this thread has turned into speculation about movie 20. lol We must show some love for the Kid, now. :-P lol

Well, here's a fuller synopsis from the movie programme/pamphlet, it may not cover the whole thing but probably covers most of it.
Spoiler: Big Spoilers For Whole Movie
・The Suzuki Financial Group Purchases Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' At Auction
An auction house in a Manhattan skyscraper in New York shows off the star piece of the night's auction - 'Sunflowers' by Van Gogh! The painting is one of the 'Sunflowers' series painted in Arles, the South of France, by the artist adored by Japan. Until recently, there were thought to be seven paintings in the series, but last year, a new 'Sunflowers' painting was freshly discovered in an old house in Arles, and its composition and colours are an exact match for the '2nd Sunflowers' that once resided in Ashiya, Japan. But surprisingly, art experts conclude that this painting is also the real '2nd Sunflowers'. The Ashiya 2nd Sunflowers was destroyed by the fires of war, so does this mean that one of the two 2nd Sunflowers was a reproduction produced by Van Gogh himself, or possibly...? Then, the 2nd Sunflowers on auction was bought at a record-breaking price by none other than Jirokichi Suzuki!

・Kid's Notice - I Seek The 'Sunflowers'
Jirokichi immediately opens a press conference, announcing that he will collect all Seven 'Sunflowers' scattered around the world, and exhibit them as 'The Sunflowers Admired by Japan' in the Suzuki Financial Group's 'Lake Rock Museum'! Conan and the Detective Boys also attentively watch the conference from the TV in Dr. Agasa's house. Jirokichi states he has already contacted the owners of the 'Sunflowers' around the world, and gained permission for exhibiting them, in exchange for furnishing them with the perfect security, preservation and transport measures. Jirokichi lauds the specialists he has gathered to fulfill his side of the bargain, the 'Seven Samurai', and invites them on stage. But his laughter is cut short when a card flies through the air and slices into the stage. It was a heist notice with the logo of Kaitou Kid - A Kid Card!! Kid then shows himself, pointing his card gun at the crowd, inciting panic and fleeing the scene! But he is pursued by one of the 'Seven Samurai', Detective Charlie, a security professional. However, when trapped in a corner of the skyscraper, Kid lets off a flash bomb, breaking the window and vanishing into the night sky!!

・The 'Sunflowers' Targeted Aboard The Plane
A special plane decorated as the 'Sunflowers Jet' would carry the 'Sunflowers' to Japan, along with Jirokichi, Sonoko, the Samurai, and as a special guest, a high-school detective who proffered his help in the case - Shin'ichi Kudou! But just as the jet approaches Haneda Airport, the wall of the cargo hold explodes, the door is blown away, and the 'Sunflowers' carried away into the sky!! The engines also end up exploding in the blast, and Sonoko and the others let out desparate screams as the jet goes into freefall!
Meanwhile, the 7th Samurai, Kogorou, is waiting with Ran and the others at Haneda Airport for the plane's arrival. But when they spot the plane, it is out of control and having difficulty making a landing!! Ran is worried about Sonoko and the others aboard the plane. But then Kid is seen flying through the skies, 'Sunflowers' in hand!! As emergency vehicles gather around the barely-landed plane, Conan spies Kid! He runs through the airport trying to pursue him, but Kid only sneers and flies away. However, Conan succesfully locates the 'Sunflowers' Kid had hidden! The Samurai quickly examine it and attest that the painting is fine.

・The 'Sunflowers' Targeted at the Museum in Japan
Several days later, Jirokichi invites the Seven Samurai to a conference to plan what counter-measures they can take gaginst Kid. The owners of the other 'Sunflowers' had also become reluctant in loaning him their paintings. That morning, Conan, Agasa, and the Detective Boys head to the Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Museum of Art, to see the 5th Sunflowers. Just after Conan leaves, Kogorou receives another notice from Kid! The Samurai decode it and find that the notice states that he will steal the 5th Sunflowers tonight!!
Conan, Haibara and the others are viewing the 5th Sunflowers together with an old woman named Umeno, said to visit and view the painting every day, when Jirokichi, Kogorou, Inspector Nakamori and the others arrive! Conan quickly realises a case is unfolding and joins up with them!! They decide that they should move the 'Sunflowers' to a safe place before night comes, and the 'Sunflowers' is to be wrapped up under the instructions of the Seven Samurai. However, Kid had already infiltrated the staff, and steals the 'Sunflowers'! He also leaves behind a message to the museum's curator, saying he will return it if paid ten billion yen.
Jirokichi immediately decides to pay the enormous ransom. The deal with Kid turns into chaos, however Conan and the others miraculously succeed in retrieving the 5th Sunflowers. However, even Conan begins to wonder about Kid's escalating crimes which have come to endanger many lives...

・The Seven 'Sunflowers' Are Finally Displayed, But...
With Kid's motives as yet a mystery, the exhibition of the Seven 'Sunflowers' at Lake Rock Museum meets its opening day. The first group to enter the exhibition are the Detective Boys, Conan, Ran, and Sonoko! Just as they begin to view the 'Sunflowers', Conan spots a Kid Card! The enigmatic message could not be deciphered by even the Seven Samurai, but its presence attests that Kid is already within the museum. Jirokichi quickly orders to evacuate the museumgoers and staff, to trap Kid inside the museum! However, he seems to have anticipates this turn of events, and blows up the electric room, leaving the museum in a blackout! Then, a great fire also breaks out, leaving Jirokichi and the others no option but to send the 'Sunflowers' to their storage room, and evacuate to a special room outside!! But, the 2nd and 5th Sunflowers could not be collected, and the inferno closes in on them!! The only people remaining in Lake Rock Museum are a great detective, a great phantom thief, and...?! Who is after the Sunflowers, and for what reason?!
As lies and truths blend together in an adventure revolving around an irreplacable worldly treasure, what truth does Conan finally arrive at?! Will Conan be able to protect the 'Sunflowers' from harm?!

Weekend Estimates (04/18-19)

01 (--) ¥880 million ($7.4 million), 0, ¥880 million ($7.4 million), Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F (Toei) NEW
02 (--) ¥860 million ($7.2 million), 0, ¥860 million ($7.2 million), Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno (Toho) NEW
03 (--) ¥520 million ($4.4 million), 0, ¥690 million ($5.8 million), Furious 7 (Toho-Towa) NEW
04 (--) ¥370 million ($3.1 million), 0, ¥370 million ($3.1 million), Crayon Shin-chan: My Moving Story! Cactus Large Attack!) (Toho) NEW
05 (02) ¥75 million ($630,000), -35%, ¥2.52 billion ($21.1 million), Assassination Classroom (Toho) Week 5
06 (03) ¥74 million ($620,000), -41%, ¥750 million ($6.3 million), April Fools (Toho) Week 3
07 (01) ¥72 million ($605,000), -56%, ¥390 million ($3.2 million), Solomon's Perjury (Part 2) (Shochiku) Week 2
08 (04) ¥52 million ($440,000), -57%, ¥3.74 billion ($31.4 million), Doraemon: Nobita's Space Record of Space Heroes (Toho) Week 7
09 (06) ¥49 million ($415,000), -40%, ¥240 million ($2.0 million), Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (Fox) Week 2

12 (--) ¥25 million ($210,000), 0, ¥25 million ($210,000), Whiplash (Gaga) NEW

Major weekend! Using the estimates, the Top 10 combine for almost ¥3 billion, which is close to being one the Top 10 Biggest Weekends of All-Time, and I think the second or third biggest weekend outside of Summer. (I'll do some research on this later).

Just bonkers for both Dragon Ball Z and Detective Conan, practically opening in major blockbuster territory, and Furious 7 and Crayon Shin-chan also recorded franchise high debuts, too!

The estimates for Dragon Ball Z and Detective Conan are honestly too close to determine which one will be on top tomorrow, though, and even using many comparisons for each doesn't really help figure out which one may have the edge. When numbers are this high, every % point changes the results drastically.

I'm assuming Detective Conan played better than Dragon Ball Z outside of the usual locations (namely Aeon Cinemas), so it's probably going to rank #1 in admissions
, but sometimes Toei releases do well at Aeon Cinemas, too, so it's not certain. And I'm going to assume Dragon Ball Z will rank #1 in gross thanks to higher ticket prices, but the 3D share is very low (doesn't look higher than 20%), so if it loses by enough admissions, it's also not completely certain!
