Well, they kind of have to do it. On average, three manga chapters makes two anime episodes, so by necessity a third of the anime episodes need to be reruns or AOs. Also since the manga breaks more than the anime (I think) and sometimes they do 1+ hour specials which off balances the manga/anime ratio futher, they have to do a few additional AO/reruns to make up for it.
This is true except that I'm pretty sure there's more manga chapters per year than anime episodes. Probably not more than 3 more though. Now from what I understand, looking at every manga chapter not in the anime yet and the new plot case that just aired:
With two exceptions, every case is 3 or 4 chapters. There are 10 of those types of cases so that's 20 episodes. There's a 1 chapter case which will somehow be done in one episode I assume and a 5 chapter case that will hopefully be done in 3 episodes. So I assume there will be 24 manga based episodes in 2010.
Also, I am glad to see nothing from the manga in February as I can survive two AOs in one month after the first good plot related case in forever instead of putting AOs after something less interesting.

Well I do understand that not every episode can be a manga based episode, but can't there be a minimum one episode per month manga based episode? With the manga backlog it should not be to hard to do that much atleast.

well I think it would be nice to get a lot of the AOs out of the way. Especially if we can avoid what happened between the scar cases and the last Kid case which put an AO between them for no reason.
Well, it won't be but, I hope its at the MPD and a married and promoted Takagi-keiji will show up and there will be mentions of his wife Miwako and his children which he undoubteldy has had with said wife...
What do you you think? This fan girl gonna get what she wants?

I knew you would say something like that xD
If you don't see you should write it *cough* Start a ShinxRan fic which gets taken over by TakagixSatou.
xD It'll probably be better then whatever they're doing for AO.
Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar

I say DCTP shuld give priority over the remastered eps than the 2 AOs
Has any subbing group ever done any of the remastered episodes? I know DCTP subbed the remastered version of 222-224, I wonder if any others were released.

they don't do the remastered episodes, and even though the anime originals usually suck, at least it's nothing we've already seen
Its not a "usually", it's an "always".
The only way an AO can not suck is if they just spam the episode with haibara, that's the only way to make me happy. But, I feel like seeing some older episodes remastered would be nice, bring back some nostalgia.
Plus, don't they sometimes add some new miniclips to the remastered episodes? i remember seeing one on youtube (chinese sub) of a remastered episode of 176, and it had some cool new clips with ai and conan

Well that will not only make me happy to, but a good way to keep a AO from sucking....or it can be a interesting case with a OMG I never would have thought of that way to kill somebody

We still have recordings from most of the remastered episodes over the past 2 or so years, so you may see a select few receiving the update treatment sometime. Someone even said that 286-288's had a new scene in it, but I never actually bothered to check.
