Same here, big Law and Order person, Without a Trace, The Closer, Monk, etc. In fact, I started watching DC because of the mysteries, but eventually, i started to be interested in the BO...the crime aspect....I also used to read Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes, Quicksolve Puzzles, play the Clue game, etc.BHK wrote: I haven't watched any other mystery animes really, but I love watching shows like Law and Order and CSI. I haven't read any Sherlock Holmes (closest thing I've read was like The Hardy Boys when I was little XD)

I've pretty much solved a House mystery disease before House has a correct diagnosis.Akonyl wrote: I mean, you could say I watch House too, but I classify that as more drama than mystery, because there's absolutely no way you'll ever find out what the solution is. House is more just about watching House be himself and boss around his subordinates.

David Shore is a Holmesian. If you look at it, they have a lot in common. Who wants to start a House thread?Nyarl wrote: I don't think a House episode is really that different from a Sherlock Holmes story. There's more interpersonal drama in House, of course, but the A plots I've seen come down to the eccentric genius solving the mystery of the day by using deductive reasoning. I'd say House has more in common with Holmes than a generic hospital drama (like ER).

Whether it's Japanese Anime or Western TV Series, I love the mystery genre... Most of my favorite anime series are detective-related, like DC, Death Note & Detective Academy Q.. On the other hand, most Western TV series I'm watching / I've watched are most crime/suspense related like Monk, Psych , The Mentalist, etc... I've been lately hooked in paranormal cases (Supernatural)..

wow, House can be considered a mystery series? as in solving a "disease mystery"? Hmm, I never looked at it that why. I always generalized it with the rest of the hospital series (scrubs, grey's anatomy, etc)
It's all about the LOST man, if you want mystery, watch that. It's just like mystery after mystery, it's soooo good. Plus, the character development is incredible.
I like mysteries in general, i remember back in the day I would read those kiddy mystery books like scooby doo (and Jigsaw Jones, that was the shit)
As for anime, Im not a huge anime/manga fan generally, but I liked Death Note. For American series, I like Monk and Psyche, besides Lost.

Well, yeah, pretty much. There are times when he has to deduce to carry on with the diagnosis.ranger wrote: wow, House can be considered a mystery series? as in solving a "disease mystery"?

I like DC because of Kudo, if Kudo weren't the main character I wouldn't have watched it D=
I only like book mysterious(TV mysteries normally suck) In the book I like to try to figure out who committed the crime before the end of the story.
Also with DC, it has made me more 'perceptive' to my surroundings. I notice stuff now that I probably wouldn't notice before.

Anything detective I love. From Detective Conan to Monk
Two cops walked into a room with no windows and found a dead man who obviously hung himself from the ceiling, though they couldn't figure out how. There was no chair beneath him that he might have jumped off of, or a table. Just a puddle of water. How'd he do it?
If you can figure this out in less then 5 minutes you know you've learned alot from your detective shows.
If you figure out my sig messege me D=
