Wow dub Conan is a dick.snuzzle wrote: I always felt really bad for that lady in the Stalker's Murder Case. If she hadn't killed her stalker, she herself would very likely have been killed by him that day. Especially if you listen to the dubbed version... where Conan tells her it doesn't matter, because she killed, and she'll have the rest of her life to think about it in jail or something like that.

it's not just dub conan, he does that other times even in the subbed versions of episodes. The villain will try to defend their actions, and then he'll just be like "well, uh, you killed someone and that's inexcusable. I hate you, you're a worthless human and I hope you think about that for the rest of your life."TheBlind wrote:Wow dub Conan is a dick.snuzzle wrote: I always felt really bad for that lady in the Stalker's Murder Case. I feel really sorry about the "Karaoke Case" in vol 5, the girl just killed the one that still loved her so much just because of a misunderstanding, and note that she also loved him. It's like the saddest case ever in DC

I also feel bad for Akemi, and that guy in the Shiragami case. I haven't read the Night Baron case (which volume does it come from, or it's just an anime episode? )...
And HATE ? So many that I cannot count, but this is the most hateful to me: The "Matsuda case" bomber
. I don't even remember what his motive was, I just know it's something stupid (btw can someone remind me about that
).

Yeah, wtf honestly, matsuda jinpei was the coolest Police member ever, like a badass version of takagi, why did he die?! I demand him to be brought back to life.FanOfShinichi wrote: I feel really sorry about the "Karaoke Case" in vol 5, the girl just killed the one that still loved her so much just because of a misunderstanding, and note that she also loved him. As for the killer who did it, dumbest reason ever. One of his associates was making a phone call to the police or something, and the police tracked him down at a local phone booth. When the associate tried to run away into the streets, a truck accidently ran him over. Then he got all pissed off and blamed the police and killed Matsuda's friend and matsuda.
I can't really remember a whole bunch of cases, but I really felt bad in that friendship one (whoever mentioned that earlier). All her friends used her, she pretended she was rich to make friends...and the friends knew she was pretending, and yet took advantage of her... I would be heartbroken if that happened to me, nothings more painful than being betrayed.

the NB case is episodes 68-70, which according to the anime listing is taken from manga vol 8, files 2-7FanOfShinichi wrote: I haven't read the Night Baron case (which volume does it come from, or it's just an anime episode? )...

Yep... read that case, it was a good one considering how she left yelling at him, but then she just cry turning away ... *I'm a sucker for those stuff XD*Akonyl wrote:the NB case is episodes 68-70, which according to the anime listing is taken from manga vol 8, files 2-7FanOfShinichi wrote: I haven't read the Night Baron case (which volume does it come from, or it's just an anime episode? )...

I'm not trying to justify the guy but his motivate was more complicated than that. Reason he blames the police is because they lied about the bomb not being disabled and took advantage of his friends good faith(who died trying to get them the information to disable the already disabled bomb). After that, he dedicated his life into making the police look like cowards or die being heroes.ranger wrote: As for the killer who did it, dumbest reason ever. Conan only usually does that when the culprit isn't remorseful about his actions or thinks they were justified in every to commit their crime out of some weak jealousy or grudge. He wouldn't do it in the case mentioned(as we clearly saw, he actually voiced his feelings for leniency for the culprit) so that Conan dub is in the wrong, if it indeed happened that way.Akonyl wrote:it's not just dub conan, he does that other times even in the subbed versions of episodes. Also if you notice, the role of telling the culprit he's an idiot or "Is that all? That's why you killed someone?!!!!" has been taken over my Megure.

yeah, I always feel bad when the victim who died was a total douchebag and the culprit had a legit reason to kill the guy, so sometimes I think conan is a prick with his sense of justice

Re: Culprits you felt bad for the most/hated the most.
A lot of the earlier cases won a bit of my sympathy. The Karaoke Case was pretty bawww, especially due to the fact that it was lack of communication that destroyed the relationship and cost a life. If that woman was given a light sentence and was released, it would easily end in suicide, I bet.
Such a downer. The one with the twin sisters (the tape on the door, Sayonara, etc.) was also sad since the murdered sister actually interfered with her sister's plan to protect her. She valued her sister's life, and that sister of hers didn't return such affection. It was a nasty thing for her to do, but seeing her break down in the end weighed heavy for me. Same goes for that family case in #16, with the girl that had the burnt pen. Her boyfriend's family treated her like dirt (at least one of the sisters, anyway) and she finds out her boyfriend started a fire that killed her parents.
The Hatamoto case partially got me; Ichiro was just someone that really wanted to be with the woman he admired, avoiding her out of shyness and a strict head of the family. The only thing that didn't completely win me over was how he pinned it on the husband of Natsue, who wasn't a jerk at all. He didn't deserve to be treated the way he was throughout that case (it didn't help that most of the Hatamoto family acted like dicks to begin with; typical conniving family after money, my God).
Crimes of passion always tend to be so, so sad.
For characters I really don't sympathize with (*really*), I'd say the guy from the Matsuda case. MOCKING THE POLICE MAKES ME OH SO EDGY. Pffft, idiot. Same goes for Karakura "I'm an Evul Wimminz Hear Me Roar" Nami in the Shiratori's Memories case. Yeah yeah, you killed a man (you man millions of other special snowflakes) and now you're an evil seductress that fooled a police officer. Whatever, you're still getting your ass landed in prison. People that kill simply to go "dohohohoho I'm evil" and expose their superiority complex simply tick me off.
There's sometimes a bit of sympathy showing on Shinichi's face. I get what you mean, though. Gosho can makes some real jerky victims.

True that the victim having it coming to them would alleviate the circumstances for the action, but it doesn't make it any less wrong to take a life.ranger wrote: yeah, I always feel bad when the victim who died was a total douchebag and the culprit had a legit reason to kill the guy, so sometimes I think conan is a prick with his sense of justice

I feel bad for the culprits that killed/attempted to kill someone because they didnt know everything.
I hate the....the.... I really dont hate any of them. They all had thier reasons to do the things they did. And I am sick of it. I am sick and tired of everybody killin' each other for revenge, or for information, money, ect. I want somone who kills just to see them die. I want a pyscopath!

I don't feel sorry for any damn culprit.
There's no excuse to kill or even think of killing someone..
I just don't understand how someone can go that far, really.

Topic: The one I hate most would be the Bomber in Matsuda case.... he's just plainly Psychotic.

Re: Culprits you felt bad for the most/hated the most.
I don't think it's a matter of opinion here.. it's about what's good and what's bad. Taking someone's life IS bad no matter what. God gave us life, he should be the one to take it back.Khinkhun wrote:Actually ... different people has different opinion, and situation... one can't speak for a wholeGirl19 wrote: I don't feel sorry for any damn culprit.

To answer your first question - I believe there is another solution instead of killing someone to save someone else.ranger wrote:what if someone killed someone to save their family? 0_oGirl19 wrote: I don't feel sorry for any damn culprit.

Second question - Not really. I do feel pity for them though, because they chose the wrong way.
