CR is based in the US... But really, Funimation holding the rights to DC probably isn't going to prevent A1 Pictures from licensing the MK anime to CR for simulcasting if that's what they choose to do. (Were there actually some rule or law like that, then Fairy Tail wouldn't be on CR since Funi has the license to FT, too.Elixir wrote:@Kor, hopefully. But would they? Where do they base the anime that they stream anyway..

Hmmm.. I was thinking if CR would pick this up to stream.. Are they just choosing which ones have massive fan base or are they keen on collecting as much anime titles as possible..

If only CR had done this to DC as well..aly_angelflight wrote:Were there actually some rule or law like that, then Fairy Tail wouldn't be on CR since Funi has the license to FT, too.)

Re: Magic Kaito Manga Gets TV Anime
CR pretty much picks up whatever they can get, though since getting the license to simulcast Fairy Tail back in 2009, they've almost consistently picked up whatever new A1 Pictures titles were airing (which is why we're even discussing the possibility of CR picking up this).Elixir wrote:Hmmm.. Well, in the case of DC, I think the main obstacle is the fact that CR would also need to have subs for the 500+ episodes Funimation didn't sub, since CR pretty much releases everything in order.Elixir wrote:If only CR had done this to DC as well..aly_angelflight wrote:Were there actually some rule or law like that, then Fairy Tail wouldn't be on CR since Funi has the license to FT, too.)
Well, Horrible Subs does nothing but steal content from Crunchyroll and Funimation, so the two go hand-in-hand.Aquahorse wrote:Horrible Subs as torrent, you mean, aly and Kor?))

It's most likely going to turn out terrible but atleast we have the earlier episodes to rewatch, lol. I honestly don't even want to check this out if it's done by them, even if Fairy Tails artwork (not animation) in the anime has gotten better recently, it's still just a really cheap version of what Madhouse can do with HxH.
Talking about Kaito, that latest episode looked absolutely beast, damn.

Doesn't seem like the website reveals anything new. At least for now.

Very, very nice logo design. I hope the general vibe of this series will completely distance itself from the past iteration (in whatever form that takes).

Re: Magic Kaito Manga Gets TV Anime
While the special episodes that aired during DC's time slot were nice, I found Conan's cameos to be rather distracting. Hopefully, they get rid of them in this adaptation.
As for Hakuba, he has appeared more in DC than in MK, where he and the other MK cast made their debut.
The thing that I do not want to see again myself is the Jimmy vs Kaito Kuroba showdown that aired as part of DC episode 219. There is no need to see that again.

Wait, really? I thought he got more screen time in MK. Or am I thinking more episodes = more screen time? :Vbrycec wrote:As for Hakuba, he has appeared more in DC than in MK, where he and the other MK cast made their debut.

I hardly remember seeing him in the manga in the course of the four volumes that have been released. At most, I think he only appeared in two-three chapters/heists.

I think I mean Hakuba himself and that was just a guess. It has been some time since I read the Magic Kaito manga.Aquahorse wrote:brycec, I think they don't put Conan cameos and showdown in 219 episode, as I understand it will be a full new anime) You mean Hakuba and his servant as appearances?

Re: Magic Kaito Manga Gets TV Anime
Going with what DCW says, Hakuba's appeared in both series, 9 chapters each. However for a couple of the chapters in MK it says he was only shown in a flashback, so I suppose DC wins
But anyway, yeah the Conan cameos were distracting, especially from ep 7 (I think it was?) whenever creepy Conan came in. So I hope Conan isn't in this at all (unless they redo Kaito vs Shinichi, which I now may have mixed feelings about (also yes, I'm saying Shinichi instead and counting him as one person
))
