We know how bad those girls sing live.
If the studio version sounds better it's not because the singers magically sing there better or because they don't do their stupid dance, it's because the studio people and their equipment know how to make someone sound better than they truly sound via technology (pitch correction was definitely used here).
The unfortunate side-effect of this process, though, is that the more you "fix" someone's voice, the less authentic it sounds. And overall, yes, the singing in this OP does sound artificial as hell.

That and it just sounds too nice. While the original song is no masterpiece by any means, it works well enough because the singer doesn't sound too enthused by it.

If they covered one of the quicker and more upbeat sounding Opening songs, I'd get it, but this was just poor choice of artist to song I feel. Hell, Nazo is nowhere near my favorite Opening song anyway.

So Opening 41 is saccharine to you? Is that what you're getting at?

1. I guess. It sounds like they just sing happy J-Pop so they sung happy J-pop in a song that doesn't work when trying to solely be happy J-pop.
2. I can't remember many names but...2,6,7,9,13,16,17,20,22 and 25 come to mind. Maybe 36 and 37 too. Would never be able to choose one.

It is pretty darn good, though. 8-)

It's good.

Episode 791: Detective Takagi On the Run in Handcuffs

I was hoping at the beginning Kogoro would've just been like "Oh come on! We just want to enjoy a meal for once in our lives without any sort of crime happening! Is that too much to ask?!"

Holy crap, he just crashed a police car!

Nice callback.

To be fair, Takagi was introduced in an AO. It would be fitting in a way if he died in one.

Takagi more interested in talking about a movie to this guy. Ok Takagi, you clearly hit your head falling into that river...

Danny's

Ok...now HE's the one who hit his head. Using a train to destroy the handcuffs? What?! What?! What?!

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll be saved by the same person who saved Heiji and Kazuha in a similar situation.

Ok, at the point where they're running in front of a giant sunset I have to ask, WTF is going on? This is just...silly.

WHO THE hype IS THIS GUY!?

HOW DID HE ONLY HIT THE MIDDLE OF THE HANDCUFFS?!

"I'm the main character but I haven't done anything yet...oh 'sup crazy dude!" *kick* "Well, my work is done."

Um...this case...it certainly wasn't boring! I won't say it was as amazing as I made it sound and it once again showcased the weird pacing issues when given 1 episode but there's a solid story in there and it was so odd and kind of exciting that it was fun. But I am glad AOs are allowed to not just be worse versions of a typical DC murder mystery again.

Number of songs from 2007 soundtrack: 8

Well, by AO standards it was certainly one of the better ones we've had in recent times. I've missed the 'fun' AOs that don't try to take themselves too seriously and serve as a nice distraction. Of course, there's a fine line between fun and goofy, which this one crosses occasionally, but it isn't too bad.
Spoiler:
And there was a nice twist! Who would've thought the big guy acting violent and who crashed the cop car wasn't the culprit? (Innocent people generally avoid hurting cops.)
Knowing the truth and knowing what to do with the truth are two completely separate ideas. Learn to distinguish them. OR ELSE.

Episode 792: Three First Discoverers (Part One)

OKIYA SUBARU'S POINTLESS CAMEOS EPISODE 37 (Pointlessness Intensifies)

Oh wow, they actually referenced the reason people thought Gosho wasn't gonna use Rum. I'm pretty sure that's a Takahashi series based on the look alone.

Ok seriously, Conan shouldn't have an option of who he gets to ask for the Organization's secrets. That's just dumb.

NUMBER TWO?! Well then...a bit more important than I thought.

I will say I have no idea what to think about this case. Really gonna have to see the second half to have any sort of opinion on it.

Eh... no. He doesn't actually appear or is even referenced in the manga case this episode is based on—here, it was just a pre-intro sequence flashback to Episode 783, given that nearly three months have passed since 783 aired... it doesn't really count... unless you want to stretch it, of course. ;)

Doesn't this counter of yours essentially say that every appearance of his is a "pointless cameo?"

Do you mind explaining? It isn't because they're all being stupidly secretive so we, the audience, are kept in the dark on things, is it? (And so Gosho can drag out even more stuff, too! :-\ )
