It isn't a spoiler in the manga section, because that is where the manga dwellers...well, dwell. In General Discussion, a lot of anime-only watchers are about (like Ran-neechan16). And don't worry, I didn't forget, however I believe something also important to remember is that the anime-only ShinRan fans will be left out of the discussion and that one of the rules of General Discussion is indeed to avoid spoilers (to the anime) when possible. Technically this thread is under General Discussion, and the rules of General Discussion supercede the topic at hand.

It would also be pretty accurate to say that it would be more on topic to discuss something that happened in 814 in the 812-814 discussion thread.

Eventually all manga files will be animated, so safe discussion will come eventually Patience is a virtue that Ran holds dear, right?

I was thinking that the events of the Hostage case would be a good discussion point, but I wasn't sure if you guys had talked about that yet.

so what can we talk about it? how Ran has utter faith in Shinichi's?
or that Sera  is quite calculating & cold when it comes to these kinds of situations- oh wait that isn't ShinRan...
what about that Ran still didn't confess?

For the not confessing part, Shinichi and Ran are wired the same way on the romance thing, face to face confess  have to be forced out by the other instead of done by their own intention, just like Shinichi did in London..Ran will be too shy to confess in front of Shinichi in a normal circumstance. Now the wildcard is although ran is shy about confessing, she does have Kogoro's blunt gene so that could come through at some point.

Hm, I agree that some sort of event would have to force Ran to get the courage. Maybe if Shinichi were in danger for once.

I was thinking it'd be cool to see Ran's confession like this:

Obviously it should be in person, there's no doubt about that, so through another antidote (for someone unknown reason at this point, obviously) he's back as Shinichi. There's some sort of case/crime/something and at the end of it, just as Shinichi's pointing out the killer/lecturing the person, he starts getting the feeling that he's turning back. In the moment of weakness, and where the culprit is mad at him, Shinichi's held at knifepoint/gunpoint. The culprit drags Shinichi off ready to kill him if the police follow, but when Ran does, she says that it's just to make sure Shinichi's okay in the end. The culprit, unaware of karateness, agrees. When a bit of a distance away, Ran suggests she switch places with Shinichi, using the opportunity to knock the knife/gun out of the guy's hands and to knock him out. In the heat of the moment and with Shinichi needing to get away to revert back to Conan, she grabs him by the arm and confesses.

This could also lead to Shinichi revealing himself to her as Conan, by not trying to get away from her as he reverts back.


There are obviously some holes to be filled, but I think this would be a nice way of doing things.

Yes! It'd be very nice if Ran confessed like this! And seeing Shinichi in danger is something that isn't very usual.

this would do, however, add ran grabbing shinichi into a dark alley, pushing him to the wall, pointing her index finger at him, and confessing in a yell-ish way XD
