^This, so much. Movie 9 was great for me because of Kogoro solving the case and kicking butt even if that darn water scooter took up way too much screentime

I dunno, Gosho tried to make me take Eisuke seriously, and that only barely worked because of the quality of the story (and even then, it didn't work until near the end of that story, even after rewatching those episodes)

Yamamura seemed more "competent" when he debuted and the few times after that before his character seemed to be established. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a serious mode, but only if he retains his personality, otherwise he'd be pretty boring. I like his naive personality.

But Eisuke was set up to not be taken seriously and underestimated, when in reality he was smart and competent. Yamamura isn't even comparable as he's always been shown to be incompetent in pretty much all ways and never serious. Even Kogoro shows to be serious about his work even if he's wrong in most cases (even though most of the time it's easy to see why he came to certain logical conclusions).

Kinda crazy right now so i'll add my two cents worth o.o

Eri to be given a chance to shine in a case, without getting overshadowed by Conan or (Sleeping) Kogoro.

Eri's background. (and since you're at it Kogoro's one too. Strange how Kogoro is central yet the background, compared to some other less important characters is limited)
Takagi's background.

Someone who currently does not know Conan's real identity (be it Takagi, Kogoro or Eri, whoever is close enough) to figure out who Conan really is.

Someone to awaken to the fact that Kogoro ain't solving all the cases by himself. And perhaps for him to lose a few fangirls while he's at it.

Yumi to be at the end of incessant teasing (by all those who got teased by her) for once. Give the girl a taste of her own medicine already. Oh, and for her not to be foreveralone. It's time already!

Yamamura to be the prime suspect of a case so that he'll know how it feels like to be trapped under other's incompetence. Sorry, don't like him.

Kobayashi and Satou to end up as BFFs. Who look alike but don't act one bit alike.

Eri to argue an interesting case in court. Whether she wins or not...I don't mind her breaking her unbroken streak actually.

Rematch of the Miss Tantei competition they had twenty years ago which ended up as a tie between Yukiko and Eri. And for Yukiko to take a definite victory :x

An explanation as to why Ran hasn't inherited the deductive skills that both her parents have. I just don't get it, her parents are like (significantly) cooler than her.

Kogoro to stop drinking and flirting with almost everything that lacks a Y chromosome.

Pairings wise, I think i'd like this:
Satou x Takagi
Shiratori x Kobayashi
Chiba x Naeko
Ayumi x Mitsuhiko

Okay, here I'll admit that I'm quite an Eri (and Satou) fan. Though you'd probably only see the Eri side from what put out above :x Despite that though, I'm not sure what I want to happen to Eri x Kogoro, in my opinion, she's way too good for him. Except in cooking. But still.

What's the problem? You have to be a mirror image from your fathers? That's not how it works. Since Kogoro and Eri are always fighting with each other
