No... the show must go on.kirhidemi wrote: in my humble opinion, i think conan should be end by this year or next year. instead of making the fans frustrated bout the things happening the show such as change in schedule, rare appearance of specials and now cutting of pioneer cast.

13 years I have known this unique voice of Kogorou... I grew up with it. It's going to be really hard to accept another seiyuu... (nothing against the seiyuu replacing him)
I do wonder what happened though. He admits fault in the situation... it makes me curious...

A real-life Black Org. is probably trailing him right now, so he needs to hide for a while... or maybe a long timeMina wrote: I do wonder what happened though. He admits fault in the situation... it makes me curious...

Jd and I were talking about this the other day. Going back to the financial rumors, it's likely that he wouldn't, or couldn't afford to, take a pay cut.Mina wrote: I do wonder what happened though. He admits fault in the situation... it makes me curious...

It could be that he was the first or only person approached about a pay cut from the big 4(Minami-Megumi-Wakanda-..the guy that does Shinichi) and this made him feel insulted. Which usually leads to conflict in a work/school environment. So he could of said some things in the heat of the moment to the staff or his fellow workers which were uncalled for and explains his "apology"+ "resignation".GinRei wrote:Jd and I were talking about this the other day. Re: Kogorou's Voice Actor To Be Replaced (Confirmed)
A Japanese friend just showed me what Kamiya wrote in his blog. It explains almost everything.
I am not going to translate the whole thing but only the gist.
Red: [The main cause leading to this result] was actually the process of the negotiation itself. When I was negotiating with the production company's person-in-charge, he maliciously leaked my confidential contract to other company members. And because of the leak I was essentially overpowered (by other company members' pressure). This was the main reason why I was replaced.
Brown: He also leaked my personal information to several blogs, and I've lost faith with the person-in-charge. I then felt stupid to have chosen to be replaced just because of him, therefore I pleaded to come back with the help of another person, although in vain.
Blue: And to think the contract problem (i.e. financial rumor confirmed) itself was settled, it's a pity to have things turn out this way.

Re: Kogorou's Voice Actor To Be Replaced (Confirmed)
Guess everyone was right when they said it was only a monetary issue. It seems he was more embarrassed that his co-workers now knew the "outrageous" amount he asked and received then his privacy being invaded. I don't want to say that releasing him was the correct move but if he had stayed on it would of cause a lot more conflict. Wouldn't take much for one of the other VAs to claim that isn't fair and request re-negotiations of their contract. Especially in a world economy where people are thinking more about pay-cuts or keeping their current salary than raises.HADAA wrote: So basically, the pay dispute itself was resolved (Yes he did requested to be paid really well)
But Kamiya felt that his privacy was invaded by the person-in-charge, and because the P-I-C leaked Kamiya's supposedly "outrageous" contractual request to other company members, he felt he was forced to leave by them.
The reason Kamiya apologized is because he felt that he was the main cause this whole thing happened. (green)

Well, then let's hope that fans will share their energy in order to create a big spirit bomb that will make the idiot in charge and whoever is responsible to take him back.
Though Kamiya could sue that guy anyway...

I really feel sorry now that it's confirmed. Detective Conan won't have the same taste anymore.. unless the new VA is a genius who can get Kogoro's voice right, which is very unlikely..
*Prays that the new VA will be at least half as good*

It's quite unfortunate how it all went down, in the end. I'll miss his role as Kogoro. He was probably my favorite VA in the series. Oh well, though. Hopefully the new guy will be able to do a proper enough job. Hopefully this won't go down as bad as when other TV shows try to replace characters with different actors.
