Ran's hair and the Yaiba connection

Post by Jeetkunedo »

We know Ran is a Yaiba fan; she carries a Sea-Cucumber Man phone charm. Is it possible her outrageous hairstyle is based on Sayaka Mine's? It would explain where the idea came from.

Kotaku made an interesting article two days ago:

The impression of a woman may be more valuable than the conclusion of an analytical reasoner.
Fear of death is worse than death itself.

By Kotaku standards, that's actually... quite a thorough article... minus the condescending attitude towards the artistic choices some artists' choose.

I agree, that it's a classic 90's look gone wrong, and somewhat "lost in drawing" in the sense that it didn't translate very well on paper. It's a simple design from the 90's: long hair with so much volume that could tower the skies. The intention is clear in her earlier designs, but somehow it got more and more odd as Gosho tried to make it more noticeable and apparent. I guess now it's just "stuck" this way. lol
