At the moment I would say it's Amuro, but I also like curry-rice.
Who would win a duel between Akai and Amuro?

Akai has better feats. I think Amuro is not that good of a chef, what I remember him doing is just simple cafeteria/waiter's things like making the sandwiches, serving and being good at smooth talking meaning he can make people think the food he makes is better than Akais.

I'd say it's Akai. He's doing pretty well for a person who's new to cooking. But then again, we haven't seen Amuro in kitchen action yet. It would be interesting to have both Akai/Subaru and Amuro join a cooking contest. That would be hilarious.

Well.. we don't know whether Akai is new to cooking. He had to survive somehow during these ~30 years. The opinion of Camel and Jodie doesn't count, because in reality they know very little about Akai.

Well, they certainly know more about him than any other characters in the manga, bar his two siblings and his mother.Nemomon wrote:they know very little about Akai.
“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

They do know something about Akai, and surely there are people who know about him even less (his best friend and ally Conan...), but it doesn't need to mean that they know about him a lot. They also know very little, and surely they don't know details about him. They don't need to know whether Akai can cook, or entire life was eating bento from a shop because he was too lazy to cook somethingDCUniverseAficionado wrote:Well, they certainly know more about him than any other characters in the manga, bar his two siblings and his mother.Nemomon wrote:they know very little about Akai.

I don't know if he said it out of modesty, but in 898 Akai said that Yukiko was the one who taught him how to cook, so he probably didn't know much about cooking before Yukiko taught him how to?

Maybe it really was out of modesty, because I hardly can imagine him (who was living alone for a long time) eating fastfoods entire life and still keeping his stamina. I also doubt that he could afford eating in restaurants every single day. If this is the truth, we can say that he literally ate his incomes.Azurinette wrote:I don't know if he said it out of modesty, but in 898 Akai said that Yukiko was the one who taught him how to cook, so he probably didn't know much about cooking before Yukiko taught him how to?
