I learned that I need to be double cautious when I will try to murder someone.
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

I've learned that if I see suspicious guys doing suspicious things, I'll stay away and stop sticking my nose into things that I have nothing to do with.

and i also learned that no matter what the motive is, murder is not justifiable but that doesn't mean i'm not compasive and sympathetic.

I've learned to read. Books I mean. And to be more observant in life, this really helps.
The impression of a woman may be more valuable than the conclusion of an analytical reasoner.
Fear of death is worse than death itself.

But Gosho does in fact paint the murderers as pitiful/deserving compassion. If the lesson n.1 he wanted to teach with his work is really that murder has no excuse no matter what, I would say he failed. He only shows us one type of murderers more or less, and they can't really be qualified as "villains". On the other hand, the victims are extremely one-dimensional in a negative way, imo.

i did a lot of mistakes in the past except murder, but i also learned from them.
even if i murdered someone because he or she destroyed my life i would cry and sob over my deeds months and months behind bars, and i wouldn't even eat and drink, unless a pure hearted person tells me that he understands me but he doesn't aprove my methods.
but that person would tell me that i'm not discriminated from society because he sees good in me, i don't like murder from the deep of my heart, i don't seem to have fun killing people, etc...
that's the reason why i understand the culprits grief.

You make it sound like murder is a mistake.
