I'm still not recovered from being blown away by the eye and mind candy.

Definitely not for the DB demographic  ;D

I still feel that this special could've been better.  I still would've liked it more if it was literally Lupin vs Conan as opposed feeling as if it was Lupin & Conan.

Still not a big fan of Shin Lupin III (I prefer the series before this one), but makes sense they'd stick to references from that series compared to the other two, since that one was the longest of them.

I agree. I mean, it was good and everything, but I definitely really didn't get the sense of Lupin VS Conan. I was thinking it was going to be something like a Kid and Conan episode, just dressed up more, etc.

Spoiler:
For Fujiko, you could really hear how much her seiyuu had aged over the years.
Spoiler:
SHE SOUNDED LIKE SOME OLD GRANDMA.  Which was disconcerting, given her character's appearance.

Very weird for someone who is new to Lupin III.

Well... her seiyuu really was some old grandma (72, 73...)

They couldn't have gotten Vermouth to do it?  Ahem... amirite?  Or maybe that would have been too confusing.  ;D

Well, like I mentioned earlier,
Spoiler:
the seiyuu for Jigen and Fujiko, to my knowledge, have never been changed (minus that one film where they all were replaced due to budget reasons).  Lupin has been around since the late 60s.  Goemon's seiyuu from the first series is different from the others, so it might just be one change for him.  Same with Lupin, up until his seiyuu died back in the 90s, iirc.  Bottom line, I guess one could say, not counting Lupin, all of them had the same seiyuu who voiced them in Shin Lupin III (the red jacket era).  I guess it's easier to hear the age with female characters than with male characters.

I do believe that we are talking about the same film, then.  That's what I was referring to when I said the above.

I suppose it would depend on the (skill of the) seiyuu as well.

Why are we talking in spoilers?!
It's not like it the status of the VAs actually spoils anything or is it a secret?
/joke

Anyway, I actually noticed something wasn't right from the start with some of the voices and I've never seen Lupin subbed.

Fujiko- From the start her voice seemed weird for her character and as the special went on you realized that she sounded old for her character. She still did a good job regardless but some of her trademark moments didn't "feel" right.

Inspector Zenigata - You could easily tell his age due to his voice straining in some scenes but he also did a good job. Besides I think the true Lupin fans would care more about the nostalgia over getting new VAs that would fit better.

Best Two Voices in this special for me were Zelgadis(someone better get this..) aka Keith(guy rocks and it doesn't hurt that he plays good roles) and Jigen because of that weird laugh he has.

Lupin is half-Japanese, so it's not unusual for him to make it his stomping grounds every now and again. He's had quite a few stints in Tokyo, including the Tokyo Crisis special.
Also (he said, replying months after the fact) the 23-episode first series of Lupin III, in '72-3, was set in Japan.
