Yeah... I think that pretty much sums up what I think too.But yea, I found the DBoys additions to be amusing, but completely unnecessary, and Ran's contribution, yet again like always, brought down the mood and light-hearted spirit of the whole OVA. It was a bit.....well, it wasn't what I was expecting. I'll put it that way. Really, when I saw Sonoko, I wasn't expecting to see Haibara at all. Very glad she at least showed up.
While the Detective Boys additions were funny they felt completly out of place the first time I watched. But when they started escaping in Mitsuhiko's version I just accepted the "ridiculesness" and love it. Then after watching Ayumis cute explaination of "one->wan->dog" again it felt much better. :P
Didn't like the way Ran finished her version as well. Too much in contrast with the rest of the light-hearted story.
Still, if you accept that OVAs are just little side storys with things that wouldn't fit in the actual anime - and if you like that kind of things - then OVA8 is quite enjoyable. :)
