I'm not quite sure what you mean by "watching the manga episodes". If you mean will reading the manga ruin the anime, it will to the point that you'll know how cases end up when you're watching the anime, because you've seen them already in the manga. But it's up to you whether that's really a problem or not.

If you mean "will only watching manga-based episodes and not watching anime-originals mess up the anime plot", I really doubt it. You might miss a reference or two, but as a whole the plot should stay in the manga-based episodes I would think.

As a person that has gone through this before, I can tell you it's catch 22 on this. If you wait for the anime, you get all the eye candy that comes along with it. You get great VA that fuels the story, music that enhances scenes, and more lively action but you miss out on the small subtle differences the manga provides. The outside of cases, the manga occasionally differs subtly when it comes to plot direction. An example would be Ran's suspicion in the manga. Extremely more funnier in the manga and focuses more on "Ran having a delusion that Shinichi is sleeping with another woman that checks his phone" while it's anime counterpart is more streamlined towards the case.

So you should probably pick a anime case you like, find it in the manga and if you care enough about the small differences(if any for that case) you should read the manga leisurely.
