Three on its side looks like a chest.  Abs can be referred to as a 6-pack.  Therefore, 36 is chest and 6-pack, or Abs.

in ginrei's example though, the 3 wasn't denoting abs, just the pecs ("chest"). And I think that 3's a little too curvy to just be pecs.

It took me awhile to see your theory .... gross and .... I don't see how you would see 6..... that way....
