Re: ESPIONAGE: Campaign Round - DETECTIVES AND CIVILIANS WIN!
In possibly a week, we can open sign-ups for another round, and then start it shortly after the busy season is over for everyone at school/work/etc. I'd estimate it'd begin after the first week of December or something along those lines? If at all possible, I would be happy to GM the game for everyone, but if not, I'm sure someone else could take my place without issue.
I had three distinct ideas for what form that round could take, if enough people are interested. Depending on which one seems right for the time, I had an Election Round, a Civil War Round, and a Spy Ring Round in mind.

Re: ESPIONAGE: Campaign Round - DETECTIVES AND CIVILIANS WIN!
Prep Phase
I have my role and my list. Civilian! Yesh! I get confused about the phases and already send in my votes, oh well... In any case I decided to stick voting with my list on the first phase since the odds supporting a detective are higher.
Day 1
I keep my votes the same. And I feel lazy... People talking about seeling votes. I'm not really hyped up about that...
Day 2
I got through the first day. Yay. But we still had a massacre. I'm exchanging votes with people to ensure my survival despite my earlier thoughts. I have no suspicions yet. Fingers crossed to the next day.
Day 3
Through yet another day even though the massacre happened again. Jd- establishes the voting system. I'm a bit doubtful: what if people put in their votes on each other and someone is left outside thus dying by default? I still have no suspicions. I trust nobody. Nemo, Jelly and I form some sort of informal pact(at least in my mind). Maybe I can trust them to help me get through the phases?
Day 4
It seems a lot of discussion happened right prior phase change. And the other spy didn't kill. Interesting... Jd- is dead. Pity. Gigantic posts are appearing more fraquently and I notice people I've been voting are being killed by spies... Damn. More gigantic posts, my head hurts. Voting system still in place... Jelly suspects me and Nemo?! I can't form proper thoughts abotu that one. Or about anything else. SA apparently suspects me too. No good... No good at all... I try to defend myself. SA declares to be a detective?! Wut! That's suicidal! Pact-of-Three is being suspected. I give my votes. And it seems SA is staying up with the power of caffeine or something...
Day 5, part 1
Six votes? I'm feeling too tired to read the voting hazzle right before the Phase change... But one of our detectives were killed! Poor Jecka. She was on my list even. I realize I haven't really looked at my list since the voting system was implemented. Hmm... I only see madness in discussion. Lot of red and bold words... I don't have anything to say really. I see SA is still suspicious about me. I wonder what his supposed investigation was... or if he even is the remaining real detective... He is bossy enough in any case. Oh well, if he gets the town to win i can't really complain... I just answer to the questions for now... Jelly is suspicious about me too...
Day 5, part 2
The DCTP crashed so I'm just happy for the extended phase. I was panicking and couldn't fall asleep until I saw the notification. I hadn't voted at that point yet...
I vote.
Day 6
What the heck happened?!
I start to think the situation seriously now... People might start voting me, you see. This is elimination and surviving it, not supporting people and playing a strategist... Gigantic posts. I do read them. But I dunno whom to vote. All I know that SA suspects me killing of Detective Fuji and calls my reaction post sneaky. I don't realize 'sneaky' psot means the other person being RM'd... Then Jelly says I've over-reacted. Now I... React. Badly. Then I give a lame explanation. And try to give people reason not to suspect me: 'Hey Jecka as a detective and gave me once +4 votes, maybe she cleared me!' Yes, I know I'm grasping straws. More people being suspicious about me. I decide to vote Nemo like I thought on the previous day. SA is Quatro-posting. *facepalm* Could you please should a bit more? *insert sarcasm* I go to sleep with my fingers crossed and hoping we get the spy. If only to prove SA and others that I'm a civilian...
Day 7
It seems I've gotten one vote and Nemo turned out to be a civilian. Crap... Only one day to figure out this game and get the spy. And hopefully survive too. I already send in my vote to SA. He seems to have been manipulating the game so it isn't farfetched that he is actually the spy. I post to the thread. And talk about jumping off the cliff. The talk about me being the spy is tiring me and at the same time amusing, oh, so much. I'm gonna laugh and laugh and laugh tomorrow... I guess I'm provoking SA right now... He is demanding to see my list. Thankfully I can just copy-paste it from my role PM. I see for the first time that only two peolpe from it are actually alive: Dumy and MDavid. SA is having a braincrash. I laugh by myself. Later I change the vote to dumy(I don't remember when the exact time was).
Edo comes to shout out the hours left. SA is contemplating between me and MDavid. Yep, he is definitely having a braincrash here. I provoke him some more while not really defending myself.
Jelly comes to my defence! Yay! I'm surprised since she has been suspecting me earlier.
SA is panicking. He is definitely civilian. I guess Dumy might be civilian too. I decide to vote MDavid after all. At least we won't end up in a tie. I also decide not to mention that I've already once changed my vote. It would cruble the feeble defence I have now.
Edo confirms my change of vote and then tells me to be more like a teamplayer..."... Don't forget though, this is a team game. You not dying does not equal you winning."
I'm lying on my bed and posting with my phone. SA is being panicky and bossy and demands to know my vote. How funny. I poke him. He yells. I poke him some more. I get this: @_@. I go to sleep.
Day 8
Awesome story! and we won! It was a close call though. If even one more people had voted me it'd been a tie. But it seems all well ends well. Or whatever they write at the end to the fairytales... And it seems the substitute-@_@-detective SA can finally rest.(In peace)
Oh, lookie, Phony GM Awards! I dunno what to think about being Most Suspicious Civilian(with Nemo) but it was expected.
And I laugh!
Mwahahahahaaaa!

If I were to take part in any capacity, the game would have to start during the second week of December. I've got three projects all due at the end of that first week..Jd- wrote:In possibly a week, we can open sign-ups for another round, and then start it shortly after the busy season is over for everyone at school/work/etc. I'd estimate it'd begin after the first week of December or something along those lines? And I'd like to hear more about these options, Jd-. What is the basic premise of each of them?

xD MoonRaven
...Looks Like you had some thoughts on Jd-'s strategy on Day 3. you should've shared your insights back then!
@your Day 4 thoughts: xD ...so, did you believe that i was a detective? @__@ Fuji said something about "...if i'm not gonna do it as a civilian, i'm not gonna do it as a detective..." welp... i guess i can say that if i'm gonna do it as a civilian, i'm gonna do it when i'm a detective!
xD and Looks Like this is also how MDavid figured out i'm not really a detective and not because he tried to kill Raifuujin... damn, MDavid! xD though, if i died, that would have created chaos among the remaining civilians. since, Raifuujin surely would not kill me after i went through all the trouble revealing that i 'cleared' her... it was indeed risky 'clearing' those two (Jecka and Raifuujin). they could have been target for kills even if Raifuujin is not really a spy. if those two were actually not spies and i was really a detective, it would have rendered my results useless... that's why i kept saying to the 'other' detective that if i die, speak up and initiate an arrest immediately especially if they have at least two, best is three, people they have already cleared. if you tried to kill Raifuujin back then too(after i have 'cleared' her), it would have been a checkmate move for us 8D xD but yeah, nice move you really did there!
@your Day 7 thoughts: xDD well! "... Don't forget though, this is a team game. You not dying does not equal you winning." WELL SAID! THANK YOU, UNC- Edogawa4869!! xD i could talk more about this but i'll just leave it at that *has been trying to get some sleep every chance i get* xD
ALSO
i just realized...

...if i have asked for my usual number(spot)... 3 or 17 and sometimes... 12, i would have been a detective OR a spy!!
and Jd- could have been a detective if he stayed on his spot!

EDIT: i forgot one more thing xD i had to bookmark this to remind me to talk about it after the game ends but it doesn't really matter now since MDavid is the spy! xD if you were just a civilian, it was a really a good thing to point out. you were also talking about your posts being ignored! i wasn't ignoring it, actually! you were talking about trying to protect a person that might be detrimental if killed(Jd-, in this case)... however, it was because that exactly what i was doing xD i'm trying to make the spies kill me instead but too bad... 8D xD ...anyway, that is really all... *disappears*

Re: ESPIONAGE: Campaign Round - DETECTIVES AND CIVILIANS WIN!
you didn't! xD and if you also look closely, i tried to make Jecka suspicious (even though i know she's probably a detective) so the spies might try to consider her being spy and not kill her, but it was risky 'coz the civilians will consider thinking that too! HOWEVER, my suspicions of Jecka being a detective just got stronger when dumytru tried to point out that we shouldn't conclude that Jecka is evil despite the points i presented back then. i thought maybe he also believes that Jecka might be a detective and notice that I NEVER TALKED ABOUT IT AGAIN, so it wouldn't go on the spies' heads xD i wonder if dumytru was also trying to protect Jecka when he nominated you, MDavid and her, Jecka, up for the arrest! it was either he was trying to protect her too OR like what i initially thought, he might have been a spy trying to get people arrested
EDIT: @Stopwatch, not sure if you're willing to share your list for us
...but did you also have Jecka in your list?
on Day 4 or Day 5, i don't remember @__@, when i tried to put you up for the arrest, i was thinking you were
1. a spy --
2. a detective -- that's why i was trying so hard to make you talk
(because Jecka, a real detective, already was killed and she was in my list so i had no idea who the other real one is @__@ xD)
3. that civilian with a list containing NOT my name or Jecka's -- i was worried about this one since if you really didn't have Jecka in your list, it was either you were trying to tell our fellow civilians that i'm probably a spy OR you were also trying to look for the other REAL detective and make them talk
xD

Edogawa4869 wrote:And I'd like to hear more about these options, Jd-. What is the basic premise of each of them?
Here are the basic premises for those three ideas:shinichi'sapprentice wrote:@Jd-![]()
those ideas sound really very interesting!! and i'm mostly hyped hearing that Civil War Round and Spy Ring Round!! xDD WOULD LIKE TO HEAR MORE ABOUT THESE THREE IDEAS YOU HAVE IN MIND!!
Election Round: Each phase, beginning with Prep Phase, all players still in the game use their one vote to elect one player to the post of Mayor. The Mayor, by the end of the next phase, will be responsible for ordering the arrest of another player. Whether they do so in accordance with the wishes of the populace or make their own decision is up to them. Meanwhile, everyone will be voting again for the next phase's Mayor, as no Mayor can serve two consecutive terms. In the phase that a Mayor is elected, they cannot be killed by the Spy. The Mayor can be a civilian, Detective, or Spy during any given phase. Arrests can only be carried out by the elected Mayor.
Civil War Round: All players are divided into two teams at the start of the game: North and South. If we have 16 players, 8 will be Northerners and 8 will be Southerners (actual team designations subject to change). Amongst each team will be one Spy and one Detective. The Spies may win on their own or together. Only one player will be arrested per phase via Lynch Voting, and voters can vote for both those on the other team and their own team. The aim of the non-Spy players will be to arrest both the Spy amongst their own team and the other team before the two Detectives are eliminated. Unlike in normal rounds, the Spies' escape will last only one phase (if two Spies remain when the escape begins, all players will have two votes to cast and two players will be arrested at the end of the phase). The Spies may target members of either team. The Detectives' ability may be altered to detect only if someone has killed before and with altered rules, such as each list must contain four names, with two names from each team. If not, each list will have to contain two names from each team regardless. Both teams will be considered to have won together assuming the Spies are stopped before their escape.
Spy Ring Round: The vast majority of players will be Spies. Only a small amount of the player base, likely 3-4, will be Detectives. All of the Spies can kill at any time, once per game, but... Any attempted kill of a fellow Spy will result in an auto-arrest and elimination from the game. Thus, if you try to kill anyone that is not a Detective, you will be removed from the game while your victim remains (other players will only be notified in the results that you attempted to kill another player and have been eliminated, but will not learn of your target's identity; if a Detective is killed, the identity of their killer will not be revealed). Lynch Voting applies throughout the round. Detectives will have an altered Investigate ability, which will be used to find out whether someone has killed before, along with a new ability, Warrant, that will allow them to arrest another player if all remaining Detectives send in an arrest order for the same target. The Detectives will be aiming to arrest the Ringleader, who will be a special Spy with the same abilities as the others. Once the Detectives have arrested the Ringleader, they will escape after the next phase.

As for the Civil War Round, there will be a special addendum to the rules. It'll be fun, if we decide to go with that one. We can maybe run a poll or something sometime over the next few weeks; I'll (try my best to) GM whichever type you guys prefer.
