In previous rounds people have suggested Civilians post fake Investigate results, so the Detective could relay the actual results without giving away anyone's identity. The Detective will get one player confirmed as non-Spy every phase, so people would randomly mention someone as non-Spy pretending to be the Detective.

Problem is, every time someone accidentally mentions the actual Spy as non-Spy, the evil side will know that particular player can't be the Detective. Remember, the Detective can't lie in this strategy because that would not just defy the point, but actually hurt us as we'll be misled.

Personally, I don't think all of us should be a part of this because that would reveal too much information to Spy and Informants. I won't object to a few players posting this randomly if they want to, though. The Detective would have to decide whether to join this or not, but shouldn't feel pressured. That way no one really knows anything about the Detective's identity. Could be someone who is a part of this strategy, could be someone else.


There was also a strategy 10221 referred to as 'Ditch Day 1'. At the end of Prep the Informats will receive an order for the first time, so it's likely they'll have to do something Day 1 to identify themselves. The idea is to agree not to say anything for the entire phase which will prevent them from doing that. Now, I think we'll have to talk at some point, so this'll just delay the inevitable. Talking is what allows us to see if a player has a secret agenda. In fact, aside from their voting record, what people say is the only thing we to go on.

As a detective from the previous round I strongly recommend the FI strategy. I also vote for the DD1 strategy and this time also actually go with it.

@On the whole 'Ditching Day 1' strategy: I do not think it will result in much besides a temporarily delay and maybe a no kill day 1. There are other ways for the Spy to identify the informants too so it's not a very productive way for the town to spend Day 1.

As far as fake Investigate results are concerned, I don't think we need to agree on a strategy here. You just decide for yourself if you wanna do it.
