Sonoko and Ran started playing together and ended up bestest of best friends

They met in a toy store, where Ran saw a doll she couldn't afford and Sonoko felt sad so she wanted to get it for her. Knowing Ran, she refused the offer, so instead Sonoko said she could play with it together. After that they played together all the time and became best buds~.

One night, Sonoko saw on TV that Kaito Kid is gonna make an appearance. Knowing Sonoko's addiction to Kaito Kid, she immediately head out. Unfortunately, their driver is on a vacation in Hawaii together with Shinichi's parents, so she decided to drive their car herself, although she doesn't know how to drive. Obviously, she got into a terrible car accident and cannot get out. Coincidentally, Ran was around the area and saw the accident, so she freed Sonoko from the wreckage using her karate skills. Sonoko was so amazed and eternally grateful for saving her life that she's willing to give Ran whatever she wants, so Ran said that she wanted to be bestfriends with Sonoko since she only has a male bestfriend and she wanted to have a female one, too. Because Sonoko wants boys, she happily accepted.
