ESPIONAGE: Round Eight - [SPY and Informants WIN!]

EDIT: This was BEFORE the detective died. I thought MoonRaven's list was actually the detective's cleared people, and she cleared rares. It's indeed pretty risky, but nevertheless creative.

Well, it was mostly saying they thought this while still voting rares96 that seems bit odd. :x

I was going with what people nominated. And I wasn't 100% Moon was detective.

Okay... I rechecked the lists. There was nine. So nine times Rare-cheche was mentioned and eight times bash and Jecka. This was because on bash's list there wasn't his own name or Jecka's. But until we have more lists I can't say anything else.

EDIT: I see that Sachi sneaked in and posted their list. My point still stands though. Rare-cheche has now ten and Jecka and bash both have nine tally marks after their names.

So, here's what I think..

Jecka and bash7353 are the informants and olo is the spy..

This is based on my own list because obviously it's the only thing that I trust right now..

My list:

dumytru ← appeared on four out of ten lists so far (only appeared in shinichi'sapprentice's, bash7353's, MoonRaven's, and Sachi's lists)
bash7353 ← appeared on nine out of ten lists so far (obviously did not appear on bash7353's list)
olo ← appeared on six out of ten lists so far (did not appear on dumytru's, cinnamoroll's, Memesu's, and Sachi's lists)
darius.neatu ← appeared on four out of ten lists (did not appear on Raiden's, cinnamoroll's, Kleene Onigiri's, MoonRaven's, Memesu's, and Sachi's lists)
rares96cheseli ← DETECTIVE
Iwamoto Yuri ← appeared on six out of ten lists (did not appear on dumytru's, Kleene Onigiri's, Iwamoto Yuri's, and MoonRaven's lists)

my thoughts on dumytru, darius.neatu, and Iwamoto Yuri:

~dumytru CANNOT be an informant since he only appeared in four out of the ten who posted their lists. Even if all three fake lists are among the ten, dumytru's name should at least have appeared on seven lists.

~darius.neatu CANNOT be an informant since he only appeared in four out of ten posted lists. Even if all three fake lists are among the ten, darius.neatu's name should at least have appeared on seven lists. MAY NOT be the SPY since Jecka voted him on DAY 3..

~Iwamoto Yuri CANNOT be an informant. She did not appear on Kleene Onigiri's list, Iwamoto Yuri's (for obvious reasons..), dumytru's (he is NOT an informant for the above reasons), and MoonRaven's list. She was also voted by Jecka on DAY 1 which is a very risky move. Therefore, she MAY NOT be the SPY.

Why is olo the SPY?

It's DAY 4 and nobody has died by the hands of the SPY yet. olo is the only one remaining who has still yet to vote, which then explains the lack of SPY executions and our informants not being that active. If that's the case, then our informants have been playing along on their own WITHOUT ORDERS for four phases now! No identification orders sent on DAY 1 either so no need to closely study the posts on the said phase. I nominated rares96cheseli on DAY 3 for the same reasons as today. I did not give it a second thought even though he's on my list since if he was the detective, in which as we now all know was true, he wasn't being helpful anyway as seen on his three-consecutive self-votes. It is a clear indication of not being able to send any investigations at all either, together with the zero post that he has contributed. Despite the absence of cleared non-spies through investigations, we can at least finally have a little bit of information based on the lists posted, who voted who, who joined on voting the nominated players, who protected who, etc.


Jecka has voted Iwamoto Yuri, herself, and darius.neatu while bash7353 has voted olo, Kaito Lady, and Sachi. Using the latter informant's DAY 1 vote as a defense that olo cannot be the spy is not believable since such a strategy has already been used before. Besides, olo is a first-time player in the DCTP Forums and people don't usually vote new players right on DAY 1 so such a tactic is very clever. I will go more into details but I'll leave it like this for now..

I will share a last-minute post close to phase change later just in case our spy is secretly not actually inactive..

He's a friend of mine (from college) who got interested in the game. Isn't not very fair to the game, but I can confirm he's really busy (even now, on Sunday he has some things to do). He's involved in a lot of projects.

About olo? He said he only had time to read about the first 3 pages last night.
Other than that, it kinda makes sense if the spy is him, since he barely had time to log in. Then again, if he was the spy maybe he could have found 2 minutes to send a kill.
And from the lists, it looks like bash and Jecka are the informants, indeed. I agree with that.

Well, he posted his list right after the phase change. Assuming he identified his informants, then yeah, but making up a list this quick is quite a feat.
Also Jecka barely posted. It's safe to assume there was an identification order D1, so unless she was ordered to vote a certain player, the order should be in this post:

So that would mean: italic text, use of star * or the verb appears. Italic text is pretty common. Scrolling through the page SA and Rai used it. So for SA to be able to create his list, at least another ID order should be there.
Day 2 post: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=12973&start=60#p859266. Other than the star *, nothing really stands out as an order, and Jecka is using that * pretty often anyway.
I'll analize in more detail their posts later, I'm in a hurry right now.

making a list as a spy wouldn't be so hard if you know your informants or even if you're not certain, you just put all your informant suspects into the list together with the dead detective.

Olo might be the spy, IF the spy is inactive.
But pretending to be inactive is easy as well, making people who are inactive the suspects. It's a valid tactic as a spy. Since there are generally 2 tactics you can follow (or 2 main categories you can separate the strategies into):
1. Being passive and try not to get found out.
2. Being active and "lead" the civilians.

Thus, since SA is such a good player and is doing a lot of awesome tactics in espionage, it's possible for SA to be "inactive" as the spy but actively trying to get the detective lynched. And once someone is getting the "leader" role, people will tend to not vote that person because of that. The perfect cover for the spy.

Of course, there is no proof whether olo, SA or even me is the spy as long as we're not lynched.
