Re: Lsteral Thinking XIII

I think this time I have it:

11235 (9) 121416
It is 9, because you sum the next and the before numbers of the sequences: 8 and 10
8+10=18, 18:2= 9.
2468 (5) 36912, the same,
10+0=10, 10:2=5.
000 (4) 888, also the same,
0+8=8, 8:2= 4.
876 (?) 192329, following what was done, you get,
5+17=22, 22:2=11.
So the answer is either 2 or 11, 11 would be the correct one if you allow two digits number, and 2 because everything is ivided by 2.

@Holmes:
Good job! I hoped you'd figure it out! 11 is the correct answer  ;D

Yay!I did it!It was easier than I thought, very interesting.

6309 ( 8 ) 2502
7581 ( 1 ) 3024
5600 ( 5 ) 6925
8412 ( ? ) 7711

This one and Sayumi´s first problem need to be solved.

Your task is to find the missing number.

Here it is,

    54          (117)          36
    72          (154)          28
    39          (513)          42
    18          (  ?  )          71

This is interesting. I know it has been answered but note this: The first column has all digits but the 6 and 0 the fifth number in that row should be the missing digits so either 06 or 60. Third Column is missing three digits: 0, 5, and 9 so it could be 59, 509, 950, 905, 95, and 590.
Just for fun which numbers would continue this and what would be the middle number in the fifth row?

also  all the numbers in this puzzle but 154, 28 and 71 are divisible by three and the three that are not could be by adding one to 71 (72) and subtracting one from the others 154 (153) and 28 (27)

Also ever heard on the 'nine game'
54=5+4=9, 117=1+1+7=9, 36=3+6=9
72=7+2=9, 154 is a little tricky but 154=1*5+4=1*9=9, 28 is also tricky 28=(2+1)+(8+1)=3*9=27=2+7=9
the trick to 39 is 3*9=27=2+7=9, 513=5+1+3=5+4=9, working on 42 Got 42 now 42=2*7*3=2+7*3=9*3=27=2+7=9
18=1+8=9, 71=(1+)3*3*2*2*2=4*3*2*2*2=4+3+2*2+2=9*4=36=3+6=9

Just number magic

Regarding Sayumi's first puzzle,

8531   (22)   9742
3758   (46)   3752
7328   (    )   1217
Spoiler:
...the only thing I noticed was that if you subtract the right numbers from the left numbers (or vice versa) of the same digit, you always get three same numbers and one that is different to the three. The odd one out is always the right-side digit of the central column. The closest I could get to determining the left-side digit of the central column is iteratively doing the checksum of all numbers in a row (e.g. 9+7+9+8+6+4+9+5=57, 5+7=12, 1+2=3). That works for rows 1 and 3 but not for row 2. I have a feeling I'm completely barking up the wrong tree, though.

PS. Sayumi, after watching episode 304 I was finally able to unlock your puzzle...
Spoiler:
It's 16, isn't it. The first digit only indicates which position the odd one out is!
... Thanks to Conan in that episode saying: "I have to think more simply, more naively".

Regarding Holmes' latest puzzle,

5600 ( 5 ) 6925

Spoiler:
If we generically denote a row like this "abcd (x) ABCD", then x=(ab+AB)/(cd+CD). Hence the missing number is 7.
