Please explain how arrogance even got into this and why you are assuming that is all he does.

I just mentioned arrogance because you were bashing Genta, so I decided to underline the most negative (in my opinion) trait of a character you like. And I honestly thought almost everybody agrees with the obvious (again, only in my opinion) fact that Kid is arrogant. At least, none of his fans I spoke with ever denied it. He is not some petty thief who steals just to have something to eat. He makes theft a sort of “artâ€

But i don't understand what's so funny about arrogance. The only situation I can think of in which an arrogant character can be funny is when he finds himself in a stupid or humiliating situation, and that doesn't happen too often to Kaito Kid.

Well that is an awful reason to vote for someone...shouldn't let her fans influence your view of her, or anyone or anything with fans. It isn't fair to them.

Maybe I shouldn't, but I would feel seriously hurt if their dreams ever came true, because "Detective Conan" is one of my favorite animes and I take it more seriously than most people.

You don't have to be in a stupid or humiliating situation to funny, as you said he "humiliates" other people, that's funny. Also I think you are mistaking arrogance for just being cool and awesome .

Well if that is a sadistic kind of humor than wouldn't what you proposed be masochistic . If you think Genta's comic relief is funnier than Kaito than I guess it is just a matter of taste here, though I'm sure the majority of people would choose Kaito  . Also we aren't talking about the Detective Boys as a whole. The Detective Boys together have many funny times, but Genta by himself has only proven too be annoying~

If you acknowledge that, you also have to acknowledge that Genta is an integral part of the Detective Boys and therefore without him those "funny times" would be impossible.  :P
By the way, I am really surprised somebody thinks of Kaito Kid as "funny". I knew many think his arrogance (or whatever you call that) is "cool", but "funny"... I always considered him no more funny than Jack the Ripper.

...and well if you find a thief who gracefully steals objects in an entertaining way with style, and gives them back, no more funny than a merciless murderer who stalked and preyed on women and ripped their internal organs out then...maybe this is less about the comic relief of Genta and Kaito Kid and more about your sense of humor

What do you mean, he isn’t? What kind of group would that be – Ayumi and Mitsuhiko alone? Genta is no more, no less necessary for the effect that the Detective Boys have on viewers/readers. He is a typical, normal person who makes the cartoon/manga truer to life.
Also, naïve, not genius-like people are no less necessary for the plot than the others, not everybody can be like Conan. And, yes, it’s a matter of taste, I think Genta really is funny. I also know other fans who think he is, though they don’t write on forums.

I am not saying he isn’t better than Jack the Ripper, I am just saying he isn’t funnier. IMO, Kaito Kid can be everything but funny. He may steal with style, he may be “coolâ€

this is so stupid, yet I can't disagree

to this day I'm amazed I was willing to watch 127 episodes of a non-comedy series that pratically didn't have an overall plot at the time.

also, having Haibara as your least favorite character, especially considering all the characters there are, does seem to be a "I can respect different opinions but this is just silly" situation
