Yeah, it feels like Yusaku never really treated Shinichi like a child. More like a little adult. And the exposure to dead bodies since he was young may have contributed to Shinichi being immune to them. Not sure if that's a good thing. If I ever met someone like that, I'd be seriously creeped out. But for the purposes of being a detective, it sort of works out.
