I like the name Durarara better, Drrr just sounds silly and reminds me of The Enigma of Amigara Fault

but yes, it is quite an awesome show. My only beefs with it (spoilers just in case):

Spoiler:

-The traffic cop and Shinra's father, for getting their own places in the second intro, were underused (horribly so, in the traffic cop's case). I would have liked to seen them a lot more.

-Celty's head situation was never actually resolved. Sure, she's beginning to realize that her head may not matter all that much, but I was expecting a point in which she actually finds her head and has to decide what to do with it. May be a tad cliche in a way, but it just doesn't seem resolved until it happens.

Also, something I liked about it:

best love triangle I've seen in an anime due to how absolutely messed up it was. A woman who has a thing for her brother, her brother who has a thing for a bodiless head, and a girl who stalks him. That seems weird enough on its own, but then the fact that said stalker chick finds the head, is murdered by the guy because of it, and then is given plastic surgery by the sister to make her brother believe the stalker is now the severed head on her body? That's just awesome.

I don't think Baccano had that problem. It had just one plot that was told from many different angles, which all came together satisfactorily for the finale.

Durarara deserves a second season. It left me wanting more.

Kida started out as pathetic and ended up really cool.
Izaya, on the other hand, ended up rather pathetically for someone who was mysterious at first.

Is there more to the plot in the original light novel?

way to complex to explain without spoiling stuff, either that or it would be a very bad explanation, just know that it's story will throw you for a loop and watch until episode 6 to decide if you like it or not.

if you've watched baccano! at all, it's sort of shaped like that.

Basically, it involves some gangs and some supernatural stuff, along with some weird stuff. The story doesn't really focus on any one central character, so it's hard to give a summary without just giving out plot points.

I love Durarara!! It really does deserve a second season though. =/ Oh well, back to reading the Light Novel. =D

Celty, Shinra, and Izaya are pretty freakin cool.  I agree that there is a lot left behind it seems.

The whole "arc", if you can call it that, about Celty's head was satisfying I guess - she gave up her goals of obtaining her memories for love, how romantic :O.

Izaya kept reminding me of Ryuk from Death Note, with his whole "humans are so interesting!!" attitude.  Badass parkouring cutthroat psychopath.

Regarding the police officer, yeah...I was a bit annoyed by that, he only shows up really twice.  Same with Shizou's brother!  I'm sure they play much important roles later in the novel/manga, but the anime was cut-short, which I have no idea why.

Regarding the series itself, it started off fantastically, simply because IMO Celty's story is the best out of all the characters.  Around episode 16ish, it got kind of weird...with Anra being the Slasher, and the whole gang war. *shrugs, it was a good series, but I believe it could have been a lot better if those last couple episodes weren't as rushed and confusing really.

I totally want a second season, apparently the anime only covered 3 of the light novels out of 8, and the series still isn't even done yet.  Also, has anyone read the manga, I'd really like to pick it up..how is it?

And some interesting news - In February, the final DVD set for Durarara will be released in Japan that will contain episodes 25-26, which are some sort of epilogue.

Also, the first part out of 3 of the Aniplex English dub will be released Jan 25th,2011, and I've listened to some of the dub clips on youtube, and wow, they are actually really good.  It puts Funi dubs to shame!  Almost all of the voice actors are nearly spot on with their Japanese counterparts.  I'm probably getting it.

Lastly, there hasn't been any news regarding a second season, so it probably won't happen :/
