It's okay.  K-On is the epitome of everything bad in anime anyway, so it's only fitting for the OP to not be amazing.  Though it would be ironic for a music based anime to have bad music.

I dont know the OP of S2's animation fits really well a ton of scenes lifted straight from the manga

It's just an ok show. Now it's a great show...that is if you've got nothing to do (my current status )

I was able to hum the melody when i first heard Cagayake Girls!, then remembered the lyrics after the 3rd times..

K-ON is starting to have too many similarities to Haruhi...

Both are severely over-rated, both became huge hits, both raked in tons of cash, both had an over-hyped second season.

I can see it now... K-ON Endless Eight.

Ok... I HATED K-On! HATED IT! [WARNING: Rant approaching...] The only thing enjoyable about it was the ED... I didn't very much like the OP, though it wasn't bad, but the ED was damned good. The series itself was crap. And allow me to explain... Moe + music doesn't very much work. They put 90% on moe 10% on music. The 10% music was actually decent, but I can't think of one episode of K-On that I was able to sit through without skipping to them either actually picking up the instruments and practicing or an actual performance. I never before met an anime that was supposed to be about a band that was so little about a band. Then again... the only other series comparable, that I can think of, is Beck. In K-On, I wanted to punch almost every character except Mio... and that new girl whose name I cannot recall... You know the GOOD guitarist, unlike Yui who seems only to be good during performances... Though I do respect that one scene where they show her practicing her ass off by herself. That is actually what most guitarists are like... However, the amount of time they put in to the music was like a knife stab to my heart as a musician myself. You go to a music club and eat CAKE?! I mean god damn people, have some pride! Practice in the music club. Also... it is IMPOSSIBLE to magically become good during a live set... IMPOSSIBLE! The music heard during a live, from a professional band is practiced so much and so often you rarely hear mistakes, or if there were, you wouldn't notice because it was during a improv solo and therefore you never heard it before. With the amount these girls practice they should suck no matter what. The drummer is lazy, which is an automatic disqualifier for percussion, because that is the most intense job in a band. The bassist... well I have no problems with Mio, again she is the only one I don't want to punch. The keyboardist is classically trained, and though that does mean she is skilled, she doesn't practice which means she shouldn't be able to play the keyboard for rock with any ease because the meter, tempo, and even finger control are all COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM CLASSICAL. The new guitarist, is again, damned good so I have no problems with her really... Other than her initial idiocy in thinking Yui was any good. Really... I don't think I have ever been so annoyed at an anime EVER. At least with Haruhi's musical number they had their excuses set up... Haruhi is god and therefore must be instantly good at everything... And they even set up before hand that she was naturally talented at just about everything, having each club fawn over her wanting her to join. And Yuuki... well she's an alien that can take data like no other, so if she has the body to control it, she can easily learn an instrument in minutes. The girls in K-On had NO SUCH SET UP. I actually liked Haruhi, if for nothing else its complete insanity. It was entertaining. The second season not so much, but the first was amazing.

I also watched the OP to K-On!!... It frightened me... seriously... I'm no stranger to the high pitched high energized voices of some Japanese vocalists... but that... that is just too much. There is just nothing that I can find good about it... And if you are going to try and play it off as the characters are playing the instruments and singing... at LEAST match up the pace of them playing... Mio was playing too slow, the keyboard girl's hands were not moving fast enough [though they played that off by not really showing her, I had to watch 3 times to confirm]. The guitars... well... they were so-so. My complaint is that there aren't two guitars... At least not that I can hear... Though they did appear to sync it. The only thing they got right was the lip syncing and the drums... I mean... really...

The ED is OK though... They had it better in S1....

I dont know I am rather liking S2 so far... it seems more character focused, a lot funnier and the animation seems better.



ep 3 had some really funny moments.

EDIT: on a side note chelonian turtle sales will go though the roof in japan I bet even though adults arnt suited for aquariums. (this is a bad thing imo)
