Character Confusion
I was checking my edited DC episodes and found out that I haven't watched DC: Episode 425... Since it was a Black Org episode, Vermouth was there... As Vermouth was speaking, I'm seeing here as Eva Heinemann (from Monster).... The voice are so identical (at least in my ears)... It's highly probable that Vermouth and Eva have the same VA... But before I noticed this, another character from Black Lagoon (a scar lady syndicate leader) also has the same voice as Eva...
All throughout the episode, whenever Vermouth speaks, I'm hearing Eva and not Vermouth... I first encountered Vermouth but her voice didn't get much impression on my mind... Does that mean Eva has a more powerful character than Vermouth?
Anyways, has anyone encountered the same problem with other characters as well?

Re: Character Confusion
Koyama Mami does a lot of voices, including the ones you mentioned:

The ones that come to mind for me are ones who are either very unique or use the same voice for everything:

Re: Character Confusion
I'm having some problems too when the voice is very unique that it stand out from the rest of the dubs... Now that I'm consciously noticing the voices, I may even encounter more familiar voices...GinRei wrote: Koyama Mami does a lot of voices, including the ones you mentioned:

Re: Character Confusion
This happens to me when Ash's old dub voice actress was lazy and sounded like Ash in other roles.

Now that you mention it, I swear I saw the same guy in The Outsiders, Top Gun, Risky Business, Rain Man, Mission: Impossible, Mission: Impossible II, Mission: Impossible III, Tropic Thunder, and Jerry Maguire. Crazy thing is, his name isn't Jerry Maguire, or Ethan Hunt.

Re: Character Confusion
I also noticed this when I was watching Monster. They really sound identical, don't they? Anyway, I didn't bother to research who she is, as I have only one seiyuu love (M.M.).CoolKid3 wrote: I was checking my edited DC episodes and found out that I haven't watched DC: Episode 425... Re: Character Confusion
Oddly, it doesn't apply to me for my favourite seiyuus. Since I've been watching Conan for a long time, you'd think I'd recognise Minami-san's voice on FMA. Did I? No.GinRei wrote: Koyama Mami does a lot of voices, including the ones you mentioned:

Same goes for Rie. She's done..*counts* 5 roles that I'm familiar with and I've never been able to identify her voice! D: D:
Mamiko Noto does Rinko from Law of Ueki, and Enma from Jigoku Shoujo. Since I watched the dub, obviously I didn't recognise the voice, but you'd think I'd identify it when Mamiko-san sang the ED for Jigoku Shoujo. Again, I didn't.
Same goes for Paku Romi who did Ueki from Law of Ueki and Ed from FMA, and Kappei Yamaguchi who did Shinichi and Hideyoshi from Law of Ueki. I soo fail at recognising voices..
It did happen once or twice for me, though. Yuji Ueda [Morita from Honey and Clover; ironically, Rie does his kid voice..obviously, I didn't recognise her] did Kimblee from FMA and I recognised the voice! YES!
Another case was when I was watching Yakitate!! Ja-pan. The bread judge who appears in the first episode had the same voice as Li Ho from Law of Ueki. Was the seiyuu the same? Yes!
Okay so I seriously need to stop typing. xD

Al: So what's your strategy, Brother?
Ed: I told you, a fist in his face!
Hughes: Yo, Ed! Getting it on with a girl in your hospital room?
Ed: She's just my automail mechanic!
Hughes: Ah, so you've seduced your mechanic? Not bad, midget.

Re: Character Confusion
Just watched Ghost in the Shell (1995 Movie) and I noticed that the Puppet Master's voice is similar to "Our Father's" voice (FMA Brotherhood)... Since the FMA Brotherhood fever on me is still there, I can't help but envision Ed fighting the "Father"... The VA really fits a Final Boss voice of some sort...
