Has anybody else has been reading Tokyo Ghoul, and been finding it strangely mesmerising?
It's beautifully drawn, the characters are insane, and if you're mixed race might lead to some reflection over the main character's state, trying to balance both ghoul and human cultures........until the later files, when it's got so gruesome I actually had to skip through a number of chapters...
On the whole though, I'm excited to see it animated this summer! Is anybody else excited for this?

Hahaha, it is a bit, isn't it?
......I think a combination of Shingeki no Kyojin and Psycho-pass has taught me when to predict when something's about to die and so skip through the scary parts.

I've read like 15 chapters of it and it kind reminds me of some of those fanmade visual novel manga adaptations, I didn't remember this but I'm definitely going to keep reading it after catching up with HxH 2011 since the arc is about to end in few weeks...

The first episode of the animation is out now! I am very curious to see how this gets handled.

Despite that I've been looking forward to this one for a while, I am yet to read the manga. But since I'm a sucker for horror/gore manga and anime (which is really strange, as I can't stand those genres when it comes to movies) I'm really excited about this one. Gonna check out episode 1 today, who knows, might even start on the manga as well this weekend

Oh yes! Do read the manga. I do recommend it.
I usually skirt away from gore and horror, but this story I really did enjoy. It's mainly to watch poor Kaneki struggle with how to balance the lifestyles of ghoul and human, and the various misadventures that his struggles lead to.
Some of the later chapters do get very gruesome. Nothing's explicitly shown but it is implied to be very violent and....gross. Thankfully, there's nothing sexual or sexually violent in this story, otherwise I would have dropped it immediately.

Idk the anime version was really boring... Don't think I'll continue watching that...

Caught up to the translated part of the manga, and I like it a lot so far I liked the first anime episode as well (to each his own)
It's always painful when a manga has so many raw chapters out, yet no one to scanlate them. Might start going through the RAW's a some point.
