It's an original story by the author, that apparently cover events that WILL happen on the manga. And don't ask me why he would do that, 'cuz I've got no freaking clue.

It seems the author prefers to betray his fans by not making an third season instead. Also, Manglobe has been awful with the animation, and its reflecting on the sales. They are screwed.
