I've just recently finished Mirai Nikki. Man, that was awful.

For an anime so hyped, the art approach wasn't that impressive. It was pretty ho-hum. Story made zero sense, and almost 90% of the characters were just plain old awful.

I'm gonna shoot for Baccano next, and I hope that it doesn't down me like Mirai Nikki did.

Better than an anime that suddenly makes no sense once the season finale starts, because at least you don't have much of an expectation for the story to make sense by the end.

Vouching on Baccano! because it's THAT good. It's a darker, edgier, and crazier DRRR!! in a more traditional yet scarier (for me, anyway) setting that takes you on a fun ride! The hype was worth it for me on this one.

Tell me about it. While we get to see good shows here and there, the overall state of anime today is pretty saddening. :[

Man, Spring 2015 was a total hype fest for me, what with OreGairu 2 and UBW 2nd Season. Let's hope Summer 2015 keeps the ball rolling.
The shows I'm picking up (so far, anyway):
1.) Charlotte (Please don't end up like Angel Beats!)

3.) Durarara!!x2 Ten
4.) Rokka no Yuusha
5.) Gakkou Gurashi! (Moeblob mystery series? Why the heck not?)
6.) Ranpo Kitan

I'm still considering Snow White with the Red Hair. Yona of the Dawn raised the standards too high for me (somewhere Arslan Senki can't even dream of reaching as of the moment) so I'm skeptical in picking up another shojou show. Same situation with God Eater.

I'll also be continuing Shokugeki no Souma (this show's too good!), Ore Monogatari, and Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan. Still considering Kyoukai no Rinne.

Also, has anybody ever watched Gatchaman? It's sequel's visuals caught my eye but I'm not sure if its story is up to par with its art and sound.

I watched it a while ago; it felt like a story for kids. Can't say I was impressed, but it wasn't bad.

Really good slow-build horror, though... at least, slow until it gets to the tipping point, at which point WOW EVERYTHING IS HORROR AND EVERYBODY IS TERRIFYING and damn this was a good series

This wasnae bad. Wasn't sure for a few episodes whether I liked it or not, but I think I do. The last couple episodes were INCREDIBLY hyped UP, THOUGH, WOW, WHAT THE HELL... followed by a pretty cool battle. The battles were all pretty cool, actually. I probably shouldn't have watched it on Netflix, though. They had those ugly, awful censor shadows that seem to be applied more or less at random and just make the entire shot awful, and frankly aren't hiding much anyway. I'M OVER 18, NETFLIX, LEMME SEE THE GORE I'M HERE TO SEE D:<
I'm interested enough to come back for season 2, though.

And now I'm watching Durarara!!.

I thought this was gonna be less messed up, but apparently not. There's a lady who's in love with her brother who's in love with a head in a jar that he thought was grafted onto the body of a girl he thought she'd killed after she stalked him and broke into his house. Oh, and the head's from a MOTHERFUCKING FAIRY who's in love with a guy who dissected her when he was four and is riding around the city on a motorcycle. With a load of this being watched over by a dude who I'm increasingly sure isn't human either and keeps being attacked by a dude with SEVERE anger management issues and CRISPIN FREEMAN'S VOICE (which tbh I'm most familiar with from Hellsing so I keep expecting that dude to go full Alucard on somebody's ass).

I should've known they were gonna backpedal in CCS. Japan or not, it's still a late 90s kid show.

Really feels like someone higher up got some complaints and told Clamp "Ixnay on the Omohay". The fact that they even MORE blatantly confirmed it before that seems like a giant hype you to that honestly, which does help.
