Kill la Kill is too silly for me.

I'm enjoying the best anime of the season, Non Non Biyori.
Second coming of Lucky Star.

You know, as a whole I think I prefer Angel Beats as there's only a couple of backstories that mostly don't take up more than 3-4 minutes that I actually hate, where as episodes 2-6 I mostly hated as a whole (especially 6). But Air is honestly probably a better anime, because it becomes fairly good at the halfway point (if still quite flawed) and I kinda sorta got what it was doing, where as Angel Beats is kind of just a confused disaster even if I know what it's trying to do.

Angel Beats had a pretty great last episode. Real emotional, basically what this series has been trying to do, except it actually worked. Congrats, this just makes me hate it more, let's wait until the last episode to make people care. And don't bring up the being screwed out of being a longer anime or whatever, that sucks but they should have made it work instead of cramming everything into it in some desperate attempt to appease fans of some manga or VN no one knows. Baccano was still good even with all its characters, 13 episode anime are a thing that can be good if you try. No everything before that became so much more worse to me, and being Air 2.0 is so much less acceptable than just being Air, especially with the potential it had. No, even as someone who is really nice to most entertainment, this blew. And no you stupid fans, it is your opinion that sucks, learn how human beings act instead of just anime tropes, this isn't Haruhi. I don't even want to do the "your opinion is terrible" jokes anymore, because people use that unironically, screw them. You know, with Air I intentionally overreact to that but for some reason this really got to me. I try not to get this angry over something stupid like this, but this was not fun, barring the humor (and even that got old after a while) I feel confident in saying that I do not get why people like it and I never will.

Speaking of which, I think I found the perfect anime to watch after this. It's what I really needed.

The manga and light novels are prequels that came out afterward, and the visual novel has only just recently been announced. This was an anime original project, and you can easily see where they realized they weren't going to have as many episodes as they thought they were (around the Yui x Hinata part).

DBZ Battle of the Gods was the most entertaining thing I've seen in a while. I also love how it actually had character development for Vegeta, Goku and Beers.

For the record, I cited an exact example of why I was told I was wrong to criticize the anime, because it was based on a better something. Fittingly the exact same thing happened with Air because I gave a harsh but fair review on it. The fact that that fan had no idea what he was talking about shouldn't surprise me honestly.

But it doesn't matter anymore because I am watching TWGOK which is the anime I've needed to see all year practically. Even at my most optimistic, this has already immediately surpassed any expectations I've had and it has some of the best comedy and timing I've seen in a while. Not just in anime, just in general.

My brother and I just had a pretty cool anime swap. We alternated watching episodes of Puella Magi Madoka Magica (my submission) and Baccano! (his) and oh wow I'm so glad he introduced me to Baccano! because this shit is AMAZING. Epic example of non-linear storytelling, right there. I don't know who I love more: Firo, Jacuzzi and Nice, or Isaac and Miria. (Also, the kind of "Western" names that some Japanese authors come up with always amuse me.)

Yeah, Baccano! is really cool. If you haven't, you should watch Durarara! too, as it's from the some writer and has very similar storytelling.

I really wish I discovered TWGOK sooner and how good it was because right now this is the single best anime I've seen since Steins;Gate, and I hyping loved Steins;Gate. And keep in mind I'm watching Kill la Kill now and watched Watamote when it was airing, but this series is making me legit lol every episode, which is hard to do.

I think I need to watch Baccano! something like twice more so I can get everything, and then I'll look up Durarara!

Also, I probably need to watch TWGOK again. I watched a few episodes before and didn't really get into it, but everyone says it's amazing so maybe I should try again. (Then again, everyone says that Breaking Bad is amazing but I just can't seem to get into it no matter how much I try.)

It's really the timing of the jokes and that they're just unexpected enough to work perfectly (so it isn't a "random humor show" despite having some fairly unexpected humor) that I'm most enjoying in TWGOK. The fact that it's very harem-like (And I assume will be more harem-like as it goes on) but is self-aware enough to not make that a bad thing also helps.

Honestly, until sonoci kept talking about how amazing it is, I had heard basically nothing about the show from anyone, which confuses me.

So after about a year, I finally decided to continue Nadia: the Secret of Blue Water, and now I'm in the middle of episode 27.

First of all, this show is weird, and kinda dumb. It has these cartoonish moments that feel really out of place.
Around the 10-17 episodes, it started to bore me, so I stopped watching for a while. Then the show picked up again, both in story, and with well written "coming of age" elements. Afterwards, around 22-27, the show took a really weird turn, with the protagonists stuck on an island and go through weird shenanigans and long dream sequences. I'll still continue watching, since I'm somehow intrigued, but the amount of weird filler this show has is really annoying.

Damn you, Nadia TSOBW. Forget the excessive amount of nonsensical filler you've had, and your inconsistent tone, and your plotholes, and the crap you pull out of nowhere, and your annoying preachy female protagonist; just what the hell was that epilogue? Why did the twenty something years old Sanson end up marrying the preteen girl? Yes, there was the timejump, so she was at a legal age, but that's still extremely creepy, and considering this was brought up at the LAST LINES of the series, it really left a bad (inappropriate) taste.

Besides that, the final episodes were kinda good.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this anime to anyone, because a third of it is incredibly dumb, and it doesn't have any sort of a spectacular story or characters.

Now I just have the movie to watch and then I'll be done with it.
