I don't think he was. Pretty sure he was only ever referred to as Angra Mainyu, not Avenger. At least, not until Hollow Ataraxia. He could've just as easily been a corrupted summoning of Berserker, Saber, or Assassin.Akonyl wrote: I agree for the most part, but you can't really say the same for Avenger since it was part of the original FSN plot, so it was there from the get-go![]()

Re: Fate/Zero Thread
it was mentioned a few times in FSN that Angra Manyu was Avenger (the only one that I explicitly remember was around when they actually explained who he was), FSN is the only one of the series aside from FZ that I'd read through so it couldn't have come from a different Fate/blah.GinRei wrote:I don't think he was. Re: Fate/Zero Thread
Been over a year since I played it, so I'll take your word for it. I can accept that one, though it's still rather silly. Especially since we don't really know much about the third war beyond the Saber summon being split by twin Edelfelt sisters (the younger of whom ends up marrying into the Tohsaka family after the war, while the older goes back to Europe and ends up hating Japanese people... her descendant is Luvia, who is Rin's rival in the Clock Tower).

I'm sad that Rider's quest for pants wasn't expanded upon. First his master was all like "well if you do this for me, I'll get you pants", but apparently Rider just went out and bought pants anyway.
How did he even go about buying pants?

He got them from Lex Luthor. Apparently Solomon Grundy was done using them.
Anyway, the censoring was really strong this episode. I figured it was just censoring the mangled corpses of kids. After reading the passage that describes it in the light novel, I wish that were all that it were censoring. Good lord Ryuusuke and Caster are sick bastards.

I figured as much, but I'm gonna avoid lookin at FZ until after the series is over just in case things are done out of order at all.
edit: and of course, by FZ, I mean the light novel :V

Damnit, Rider! Stop rising up the ranks of my favorite characters! You're close to surpassing Archer! >_<

Re: Fate/Zero Thread
There's a reason this thread is also called the Rider Appreciation Thread
Anyway, yeah looks like I was wrong about sayin "well I don't think Rider would hide another Noble Phantasm from his master considering everything else he's said", but it doesn't matter because Rider was once again the best character in the show. Still sad though cause we know things won't go his way and he's so awesome
And was it just me or was the animation in this episode a little weird, namely in the characters' faces?

Re: Fate/Zero Thread
Poor Saber was owned by Rider, and was Rider´s emmm let´s call it "attack" a Noble Phantasm or a Reality Marble like "Unlimited Blade Works"? The fansub of mine subbed it weirdly as "Command Seal" xD
The banquet was amazing, it really showed each of the Servant´s personalities.
Akonyl, I only found Iriesviel´s face a bit weird.

Wow, bad subs if it called it a Command Seal. Which one was that? You really should switch to UTW. They might be a little slower, but they're huge TypeMoon fans so they don't screw stuff up.Holmes wrote: was Rider´s emmm let´s call it "attack" a Noble Phantasm or a Reality Marble like "Unlimited Blade Works"? Anyway, it's a Noble Phantasm that is a Reality Marble. Unlike Archer, who had his Reality Marble in real life, Rider's is a conceptual Noble Phantasm that he did not have in life.
Also, only odd face I noticed was Saber's. T'was the nose.

Re: Fate/Zero Thread
yeah, it was mainly the noses that I found weird, on Iris/Saber/Gilgamesh's faces. Rider's not so much because his face is drawn completely differently.
As for that sub calling it a Command Seal, clearly it's because he's so awesome that he's his master's master now

Ok, I didn´t know a completely defeated master could return to be as one.
And Archer is a machine of persuasion xD
