I hate censorship

This reminds me a lot of the San Fransisco law that recently passed that states that fast food restaurants can't sell toys in meals that are suitably unhealthy (aka, McDonalds Happy Meals), parents need to stop asking the government to regulate their kids just because they don't feel like keeping an eye on them themselves. :I

Reading that whole thing closely, it seems that these "obscene" manga etc. aren't outright banned, but simply not sold to minors. While that may unfortunately affect the youth in Japan, isn't it pretty unlikely that we'll notice anything of that? Because, after all, manga scans will be available nonetheless; they simply will be provided by adults only

So, do we need to worry at all?

(I agree that the law is non-sense nonetheless, I just doubt that we'll feel the impact)

Callid's right about this law limiting availability, not banning but I believe we all agree that that law is fundamentally wrong.

Yeah it's pure nonsense of course. I think it's the parents responsibility to watch what their children are doing. No the law .. not the state not the teacher. Simply and only the parents. Okay the part about teachers have to been seen different when children are at school

That just pisses me off!!! Just because I am a otaku doesn't mean somethings wrong with my DNA ad inelegance isn't effected by things like that! How is this moron a governor, if he thinks things like that! Just plan stupid. I don't think he even understands how DNA works! I demand a new governor for the country I don't even live in!
