Quickly going through Wiki, I found out in less than a minute that the script writer for Tamako Market made Tokyo Mew Mew.

That is the most amazing coincidence.

Be careful dude, that show is the strangest show out there.  Some people love it, but I couldn't get into it..there's a particular episode that will totally make you WTF.

I tend to love some WTF as long as it isn't annoying or pretentious.

If it helps, the story is from an actual award winning novel, not a manga, visual novel, or light novel.  Basically, it doesn't really have any previous ties to the industry.  It also doesn't have an OP, so you get more episode per... episode.

You know, I gotta be honest. I tend to have a high tolerance for stupidity but for some reason the attempts at dumb comedy in Space Brothers just irks me. I don't think I even have rational reasons for it, but it's really hurting the series for me. These dumb attempts at comedy just shouldn't be in this series. I don't think I've ever seen a series before where the comedy is what's hurting my opinion of it.

Like, I dunno, it seems like it's supposed to be this sort of comedy you enjoy because of nostalgia for stupid comedy? Again, I don't have good reasoning for it but...
