sakurasou is surprisingly good, prob 2nd or 3rd best show of the season for me.

Started watching some amagami, but..it's pretty dry..

Thinking of continuing shin sekai yori, but I hear it gets weird. Really weird.

dropped Zetsuo no Tempest, that show is just oodles of what the hype and terrible pacing.  What a total f-ed up plot.  Thinking of starting robotics;notes, but I hear it's kind of shitty.  Any opinions?

Also watched some Ghost in a Shell S1.  an IG classic.

Tokyo Godfathers for movie.  Magi (kinda) for anime.  

Man I haven't been able to get into the animes recently at all :<.  Maybe I'm just looking at them all wrong?  Btoooom drew me in for a bit before it made me facepalm repeatedly.

Hunter X Hunter, or "The Opening Song That Will Never Leave". Even One Piece would demand some variety in this regard...

Ironically the opening that I remember best is "Pray" from Greed Island OVA haha.

It started incredibly slow (and not in the good way like Steins;Gate), but it's started picking up steam lately.  If they play their cards right, it'll probably end up better than Chaos;Head, but still not even close to Steins;Gate.  Though there are a lot of hints to Steins;Gate in it, including internet names that appear to likely be the same characters, and the obvious inclusion of adult Nae.

And yes, Sakurasou is currently tied for my #1 of the season with Psycho Pass.

I'd assume good new anime take awhile to get a legit fanbase in America. For example, all of the Tiger and Bunny discussions I've stumbled upon happened after it ended.

dude I think they announced like 2+ movies, the series is doing fine

It could be worse, Slayers fans had to wait over a decade for a new season and they still have more to do.

well yeah, but S2 was announced at the end of S1, before even the movies were, iirc, and I want it now

and the first movie at least is basically an expansion of the first few eps, but I want a continuation.

Not only are there still more novels to do (they actually went back and did novels they had previous skimmed/skipped, but in a very... "AO" kind of way), but the manga version of what we got was actually vastly superior.  And I don't mean the normal kind of manga vs anime debate, but the entire ending was different, with the manga actually sticking to canon while the anime was like "meh, let's go for what looks cool".

Well, Rezo was still the villain in the manga for the second half.  Instead of killing the revived Ruby Eyes shard with a Giga Slave (which Lina swore to never use again, since it would likely destroy the world (and she didn't even use in the last novel when it was just her and Gourry versus a shard of Ruby Eyes)), she used a Dragon Slave empowered by the tree Flagoon.  In fact, Xellos even tries to get her to use the Giga Slave, and she basically tells him to shove it.

Also, in the anime, Duclis just dies and Potoka remains in his stupid little puppet body since Rezo took over his real one.  In the manga, Duclis merged with the armor and became a wolf-like being (dying against Ruby Eyes), while Potoka ended up going to Duclis's body (since Rezo took his over).

Hard to describe, but it's worth the read.  Each half of the season is like 6 chapters of about 50 pages each.  Really good.

But yeah, they really need to animate novels 9 through 15.  They can shoehorn Zelgadis and Amelia in if they have to (I wouldn't mind, I like them), but they need to get it done!
