It didn't get "cancelled". The artist just took some hiatus (break) for - altogether - several years...

And the anime never got canceled either. It caught up to the manga so they concluded the anime until there as enough material for an OVA. They they did two more OVA sets of episodes after that, and after this next saga in the manga concludes, then maybe we might get another OVA series.

I've seen the OVSa too, and I know the anime catched the manga, but they always deal with that with fillers and they just dropped HunterXHunter.

They didn't just drop it. They ended the first anime in 2001. Sold the first OVA in 2002. OVA 2 and 3 were released in 2003 and 2004.  This is the way that anime should be handled when it catches up to the manga.  Yes, most shonen anime (or anime in general) goes into filler, but if you look at those dates, would you really want about five or so years of straight filler? That would destroy the anime. Remember what happened with Rurouni Kenshin with it's third filler season? Ratings dropped severely and they ended it prematurely.  And then with the first series of Naruto, the 80 episodes of filler in a row killed it for me. I lost all interest.

So... I'd say, wait for this latest saga in the manga to end and maybe they'll finally release more of the anime.

I pretty much agree but considering how One Piece and Detective Conan are pretty much always in the top 10 ratings, I can't blame people for doing that.

I'm way behind with Hunter x Hunter.  I sorta stopped when the manga-ka went into the first hiatus, .  Out of curiosity, does anyone know what chapter that was?  I want to go back to it, but I'm not sure where that was.  I barely remember what I read prior to when I stopped.  I just know it was during the Chimera Ant arc, but maybe I should start the entire arc over.  Anyone know what chapter that is?

I watched it in a local channel when I was a kid. I'm a shonen anime lover back then.

I'm planning to watch it again since I forgot almost everything about it. The only things I remember? Gon's name and the appearance of the white-haired guy, the yellow-haired guy, and Gon.

Too bad, you missed out the one with eye glasses.... Leorio...

HxH is a must watch cause it's better than any other action+adventure series IMO....
(Forgive me OPtards for this!)

Oh yeah, I remember the guy with eye-glasses but I didn't care much to him since Killua and Kurapika are bishounens while Gon is the main character.

I don't think they'll mind since their anime is still continuing and their manga gets more than 1 volume released in a year.  :-*
