Because I am a MGS fanboy and MGS3 was one of my favorite games of all time.  Also, its in 3d!!! :O :O :O

I'm not a MGS fan, but for most games nowadays I'd rather have a remake of a good game than a blah rehash that ends up being a watered down version of a good game or a complete milking of a franchise.  Poor, poor Sonic..

you have a point, look at the current 3DS games. :p

I'll probably get a 3DS soon but part of me wants to wait until the games for the supposedly dead DS stop being better than anything on 3DS.

I agree with this.  That, and the freaking price!  It costs almost as much as a PS3!  And while the whole 3d concept is interesting, I really couldn't care less about it in the long run, especially if it causes the level of eye strain I've been hearing about from "prolonged use".  I'm sorry, but if I'm forced to only play in 20-30min clusters every hour, then that's a poorly designed system.

Also, battery life.

from what I understand, this isn't true for anyone I know who has played it (and I'm part of a somewhat large Nintendo forum and no one has complained about this)

it's like the seizure warning on all game boxes and manuals nowadays, it really affects basically nobody
