Enjoy it while you can, before you hit the Moffat seasons.

Also, does anybody know if Charles Dance being cast as the Master is for real? Because if so, he and Peter Capaldi are the only two reasons I'm watching this season.

No news on it yet, so I'm guessing it's just rumours.

Spoiler:
Just some general thoughts.

So we're going to get an explanation for the Pompeii thing then and the reference that the Doctor couldn't remember was the fireplace ep, right? It was decent, if a bit oddly paced and I'm glad it seems they're getting it out of the way at the start that romance isn't on the menu (though I wish it hadn't been used earlier anyway as the "reason" Clara wanted to go with him).

Paradise garden person has potential, but I'm going to see where it goes. I'm presuming it's linked to the phone number stuff now rather than actually being Heaven :x.

I didn't like how the characters were so slow to catch onto obvious things though, given how predictable it made the plot seem at times.

(Spearing the guy was still more PG than some anime's versions of that (okay, I pretty much mean Umineko here). Don't know what to think about that.)
EDIT: Not really spoilery so I'll put it here but I really liked the various references to other Doctors in there. Nice continuity.

I'm not sure what to think of the pace yet, I'll get there.

Spoiler:
I... didn't really like it. It felt like a chore to actually watch it. The pacing was all over the place, and some parts of the script were pretty obnoxious.

Example:
Clara to lizard lady: I don't think I know who he is anymore
Two minutes later, Clara to Doctor: I don't think I know who you are anymore

Also, there were a bunch of moments that were intended to be funny, but I never managed to laugh.

I just think this introduction/premiere wasn't really effective.

Capaldi was brilliant as the doctor, I loved his 10's impression! Of course, Moffat likes to ruin the fun. Some stuff didn't make sense, so he just added Moffatsplaining, and bam, it makes sense, but not really.

that plus everyone still has to get used to the new pacing... I though most stuff in the ep made sense, course not everything can be right tho...

still... there is one thing that I liked Moffat seasons better than Davidson season... Doctor generally dose NOT fall in love with his companion... ( yeah I'm looking at you Rose and 9/10th Doctor) it is just creepy as hell considering even as 9th doctor he is supposed to be over 900 years old. As such I am glad when they sank the shipping between Doctor and Clara.

I just watched this and I have to say I liked. Although it was 10 references after another one it was still nice. Quite predictable but I still liked.

Excuse me? Did you not see 11 snogging with Amy and Clara... Not to mention his "wife" river who had no purpose but to be around the Doctor? All Moffat does is pair the doctor up with people. Even at the end of this episode he added that woman that called the doctor her boyfriend, not to mention he let Madame the Pompadour fall for him in Tennant's era. (and he basically made Amy fall for him in the same way). And then I haven't looked at the 50th anniversary yet, where ten married a queen who is known for never having had a bloody husband.
At least Rose and the Doctor had a more healthy relationship and Rose was never created to be the Doctor's girlfriend.
Moffat is a disaster for this show and we all know it.

BTW, Davidson is the 5th Doctor.

Yeah, in general I don't really understand how people can stand her. All she pretty much does is yell. Don't get me wrong, though, I get why she yells (it's clear she's afraid of being a noone and thus afraid noone will see her standing so she makes sure everyone will hear her) and I appreciate what she does for the Doctor... but I don't really like her anyway.
Course everyone has his own opinions about that.

Probably the contributing factonr in this for me is that she's the first companion I knew. Sontaran Stratagem was the episode that started it all.
