I am loving this show thanks for the links to the third episode I have all but the second to last word http://www.thescienceofdeduction.co.uk/hidden-messages/hiddenmessage3
I am really loving the trend to make stuff that the show talks about available to fans so that the world fells more realistic. sherlock might not be publishing books like castle does but I love all the websites for the show. also I love the directing of this show and the humor, it is a great modernization. I so can see sherlock as a text happy guy LOL. and the jokes in this show are hilarious and on target, "I am not a psychopath XXX, I am a high functioning sociopath..."

dilbertschalter wrote: One of the things that sticks out most for me is Holmes' supposed ignorance of things not related to crime solving- in the second chapter of Study Watson describes Holmes as being completely ignorant of, a number things, included all non-sensational literature and also of the fact that the earth revolves around the sun. Yet Holmes frequently closes story by quoting famous literary works, both (relatively) contemporary ones and also 'classics'.
One thing that Sherlockians have said over the years is that maybe Holmes had just been reserved with Watson--not wanting to reveal too much about himself too early; only really showing his true side after he began to see him as a friend. Thus why some of the stories have strange details that aren't really compatible with some of the later stories.

Of course, let it also be known that SACD was all over the place anyway. It also doesn't help that, chronologically, the stories are written by Watson completely out of order, so... this theory kind of goes off the rails the more you get into it.

And more (confirmed!) news has been revealed:

Series 2 of BBC's new [summer] hit 'Sherlock' will consist of three new episodes, each one running 90 minutes long. The second series is said to return on television (BBC1, BBC HD) in Autumn, 2011.

I'd say great news except for the long waiting time but for good stories you have to give the authors/creators some time and since the creator is also currently doing the Doctor Who series, I think it's a good deal. Three episodes are the only thing I can't ignore, for me, it is just three weeks to wait for another year, doesn't seem right, but I guess, we'll all have to live with that. And as long as the show is as awesome as in the first series or if it is even better, it's okay. Now, I'm just waiting for another news in approximately one year: the commission of a third series. :)

What do you all think of the news? 8)

At first I thought it said Autumn 2010 so I was kinda disappointed when I noticed my mistake. Three episodes a year? I've been hoping for more :-\

Martin Freeman (Watson in this rendition) has fortunately already signed on for the second season, but recently the news broke that Peter Jackson & company were seeking him out to play Bilbo in the forthcoming adaptation of The Hobbit. This was just days after he signed back onto Sherlock, actually.

New Line and MGM have re-offered him a new revised schedule that would allow him to film both Sherlock and one or both parts (or whatever they decided to do) for the Hobbit. Obviously, being in the Hobbit would help his career tremendously, but I don't think there's much reason to assume he'll bail on Sherlock if it came down to it.

In more related news, Steven Moffat is again hinting that some (further) elements of The Final Problem/The Empty House, the character of Irene Adler (whether it be an expanded sense or as was in SCAN we won't know until next year), and the Hound may be incorporated into the three episodes next year (to what extent remains to be seen).

Only one year away, plenty of things to watch until then. Plus, if the BBC expect this series to draw in 7 million+ viewers again, they may commission a third series in time for it to start filming for a Summer 2012 airing. :-*

Sherlock is going to air this Sunday on TV in America!!! I'm really looking forward to it!!!!  ;D
Sherlock Holmes - When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?

Conan Edogawa - A Detective who uses his deductive powers  to corner a suspect and then does nothing to stop that suspect from committing suicide...is NO better than a murderer himself.

A friend of mine was trying to make me watch this some time ago. I probably would have if I did not run into computer problems around that time. >_< I suppose I might try to catch it as it gives on TV or just find a torrent for it later.
