236-237 will be resubbed by DCTP
331-332 (AZFS first release, I believe) will be resubbed by DCTP
361-362 will be resubbed by DCTP (I rewatch them just now and yeah, I think these eps need to be resubbed)
398-400 will be resubbed by Kienai
406-408 will be resubbed by Kienai

Any Replies now will have the news that we finally hit 0, but for xpon sake, there are still unofficial episodes that will be worked on and I am of the option that this topic stay until the status of the unofficial episodes become official.

I'm taking some time getting through my initial watch of Conan and 299 - 300 were the only ones I skipped, so I was very happy to watch these and to know that I could expect a certain amount of quality for everything left.

But by pure chance the next two in my queue were 443-444 (The Sigh Shell Gathering)... wow that was a bad sub. every "you" replaced with "u," multiple lines of dialogue placed on a single line, some lines apparently dropped... I think these two and possibly 448 could have a case for being listed in a Subbed but lower quality category, it's how they're listed on the PDF list.

I hold some hesitation for doing this as has been mentioned elsewhere before. A lot of the old fansubbers, from all of the old groups, still check in on the community every now and then. Even for the ANFS episodes, I think it is wrong for us--as a community--to promote an in-culture of damning everything that doesn't meet the current standard. Everyone always did their best, whether that "best" is good enough for everyone today or not. As a result, I think that, no matter how the lower quality releases turned out (which none of us had anything to do with), it's the effort that should be acknowledged and not the perceived quality.

I'm not sure if that makes sense, but that's basically my feeling on it. In short: Everyone's always done the best with the resources they had at the time, and having a group of people saying, in unison, "That really has to be redone!" would probably come off as quite hurtful to people who were just doing what they could back then.

I agree Jd. We must not discourage others from their work. Like computers, Late years models were in their time ' top of the line' but now are obsolete. I believe I can safely say the same about DC releases. All releases with time might become like what many thought about CHX releases. As I see it, it is the subbers job to make sure that never happens to Detective Conan. There will always be better release that are newer, not because to any errors, but simply because the Technology keeps getting better. Also that can be said of other translations. Because like Technology, the English language is always changing and what is clear and very well understood today might not be that way tomorrow.  Again I believe the subber Groups will NEVER let Detective Conan reach the point of being obsolete!
