Congratulations, you just used your own opinion to deem the worth of other series in order to keep your original claim "correct". Just admit you were wrong.
By the way, there are many who would say Smallville, or even Superman, is pointless. So I guess by your logic, your runtime and episode length means nothing either.
That's just the point me'lad. Its MY opinion. I consider half your listed shows pointless for lack thereof of realistic character development, repititive plotlines, for the same reason Smallville is not pointless because it has those.
Either way... Its my opinion that they are pointless. That its factually correct is another point together. Everyone's inclined to their own opinion. Conclusion: My original words were accurate. (as "correct" is such an uncertain word)

Just saying broski you weren't accurate in any way shape or form. As a scientist I'd like to point that out. You can be correct in your opinion, but your statement was quite fallacious and thus inaccurate in its entirety. "Comprehensiveness" as you are defining it, is subjective, so that could be correct according to you. However, length is measurable and quantifiable. And your statement was rather off in that regard. Even if you were using the statement in tandem, it is still inaccurate as there are many many long running shows. Quite frankly 218 episodes is not all that impressive. There are many shows that have as many or more episodes that have everything you consider to be the makings of a good show in other genres. The scope of your statement was limited.
Just so you know, the correct and accurate statement would have been "it is one of the longest and most comprehensive shows I have seen." That removes the element of absolutes which prevents your statement from being accurate.

They aren't pointless for the sake of what GinRei was trying to do - prove you're wrong about Smallville being one of the longest.

Realistic character development in a series based on an alien with powers rivaling god. Yeah, that's sane. And since when are repetitive plotlines a good thing?
Conclusion: My original words were accurate. (as "correct" is such an uncertain word)
No, your original words are still inaccurate. And correct is not uncertain at all. You were wrong. Man up.
Guys, see I said it is one of the most comprehensive shows ever....... I could have meant that it was one of the most comprehensive shows I AS IN "ME" have ever seen. There's no point arguing about it. Even my words were "one of the longest" meaning out of a lineup as in not THE longest. I could have picked it out of a list of 1000000000 for all you know. For the satisfaction of others, Yes the series listed by Ginrei
General Hospital: 12,020 episodes and counting
Days of Our Lives: 11,271 episodes and counting
The Wonderful World of Disney: 1,224 episodes
One Life to Live: 11,096 episodes
All My Children: 10,712 episodes
Sesame Street: 4,344 episodes and counting
Power Rangers: 704 episodes and counting
The Simpsons: 508 episodes and counting
Law and Order: 456 episodes
Friends: 236 episodes
Everybody Loves Raymond: 210 episodes
are numerically ahead. But i only see a few genres. And i PERSONALLY dont count most of the stuff listed above as these will continue on and on and on......................................... And mostly without a point. Power rangers is beyond doubt childish. Simpson's and stuff like that has very small amount of continuity for such a large show and Very less character development.
See, If it makes you feel better, i'll post it - i was wrong. Inconsequential if i dont mean it.
Also i made this thread to discuss a TV show not to see who was technically correct. It matters little to me. Please continue to do that- have a healthy Discussion on the topic, not on who was right and who was wrong. Lets continue to do that.

On reviewing seasons 8 and 9, i find one thing very annoying. Clark may save oliver spiritually/morally, but green arrow is a great hero in his own right, Clark shouldnt have to come to his rescue and shield him from arrows/bullets.
