The Zelda 3DS was Europe only, so if you don't live there you can't get it.
And the red 3DS will be released in Japan on the 14th of July. Don't expect to have to wait much longer than that.

During E3, Miyamoto stated that the first few people to register a 3DS and LoZ OoT to club nintendo, get a free soundtrack CD compiled up of 50 songs from the game, and an orchestrated song specifically for the CD.

I called nintendo because this wasn't specific enough, and they said the first 50,000 will get it.
This offer was US/Canada only and started today. Despite being one of the last timezones to be able to get the game, I was able to be eligible to get the CD.

It will ship to me starting July 5th. I also have one of those reversible pouches in the mail, should be here soon.

I also only need 100 club nintendo coins to reach platinum status by the end of the month.
If people want to pm me and help me with that because my sources have run dry, I will gladly give something in return. BTW 100 coins is equal to 2 wii games or 3 DS games.

Awww...most games sold here are US region games. I hate those region locks >:(

You're so lucky! You (will soon) have the free soundtrack and the platinum status. So lucky :).

So, Nintendo announced that they are giving the CD to anyone who registered the game that day.

They ruined it.

I caught the window, and they throw that in my face.

It makes me angry.

I was actually looking forward to owning one of these until I tested a unit and realized the 3D effect doesn't work on my eyes. I just gives me the impression I'm looking cross-eyed at the screen. I tried to change my viewing position to every angle I could think of, even held it at a 90 degree angle behind my shoulders to see if I could get the effect and nothing. I would of kept trying but I was told to hand the unit back because I was acting strange..they wouldn't let me explain that I was trying to get the 3D into my eyes.

No wonder the 3ds didn't sell as expected. They did not even try to help you. They just asked you to return the unit...tsk, tsk. Did you try to adjust the slider on the right side of the upper screen?

It worked fine for me when I tried a friend's unit, which is probably a bit strange since I was wearing glasses at the time, which you'd think would make it harder for the camera to find your eyes...

I know, if I could of achieved my goal and had the 3D enter my eyes,  I would of purchased 10,000 units!
I tried the slider and the best setting was with the 3D off because then it looked like I wasn't trying to stare at my nose, ;D.

GASP! You have the magick eyes. You must protect them at any cost. Wait, the camera of the 3ds focuses on your eyes to deliver the 3D effect?

Well, yeah. It has a retina tracker and projects two different images which overlap at the right angle to create a 3D effect. Your depth perception of the surrounding environment is based on the 2D images coming into each of your eyes anyway. The 3DS uses that. It's called autoretroscopy, I think there's a link to a diagram in an early page of the thread.
So anyway, i'm impressed that it could track my eyes so accurately through my glasses. My prescription is -6.5 and my lenses are thick.

when i tried it out i had to do it at half mast and still had to find the right distance and i'm one of those people who have no problems with 3D so i don't think it scans or tracks your eyes. funny thing when i tried it was the face game it did my face and it said infant and i'm certainly not a baby and i did my mom's and it said adult MALE!!!!

I don't think the 3DS actually uses any form of eye tracking for the 3D effect, if it did there wouldn't be such a small "sweet spot" for the effect, and I'm not sure how the tech would compensate even if it did know where your eyes were. Also, autostereoscopy. :P

Thwoops. I dunno, ONM UK just said it used a retina tracker, which was why it didn't work for more than one pair of eyes.

I'd guess they were talking about the sweet spot being too small in that case, because you may not be able to fit two peoples' heads in there :P

if you can find something mentioning a retina tracker or something though, feel free to link it because that'd be pretty interesting.

I'm afraid I read it in ONM UK ages ago and can't find the preview in the website archive, but I'll go through some old issues and try to find which one it was.
