So, only just gotten around to seeing GOTG (due to being on holiday when it came out rather than by choice) and I was wondering if someone could describe the credit scene/s I presume was/were there but didn't get to see because my dad is a very impatient waiter (as in, waiting for people, not the restaurant kind obviously).

Anyway, relatively predictable in places (and I say this as someone coming in having avoided all spoilers) but I really liked the usage of music and the film as a whole was pretty awesome ^^.

The first stinger was baby Groot in a pot dancing to some music, then freezing up when Drax looked up from polishing his knife... then starting to boogie even harder when Drax went back to his knife XDXD IT IS THE CUTEST THING TO HAVE EVER HAPPENED EVER.

The second stinger at the very end was... The Collector sitting in the ruins of his Collection and drinking with Howard the Duck. Yeah.

Lots of references here. I fanboyed hard when they showed the Celestial and Howard too... Overall, the movie was pretty standard, but my attention didnt waver from it. At all.

Movie was alright. It made me smile and laugh, so that's always good.

My only problems, though, can be summed in 4 (ish) points.

1) A lot of the exposition delivery was a bit jarring for me. In several spots, especially at the beginning, characters are saying things to other characters that they already know. It was just a little too obvious at times.

2) Part of the settings (and scenes) felt really George Lucassy, especially the politics nonsense.

3) I just couldn't take the movie seriously whenever it actually tried to be emotional (at least towards the end). I kept waiting for someone to break the mood with some one liner or a sarcastic comment. I get what they were going for (like with the holding hands thing) but it just didn't work for me.
Kinda related to the same subject. The soundtrack was good, but whenever the soundtrack started to get all emotional, it just didn't seem fit. By the third act the tone of the movie was so sarcastic already that I couldn't buy the emotional stuff, and the soundtrack in those scenes felt a little tryhard.
Another thing about tone is how well it will work when all of these characters from different movies are in one movie.

4) This concerns the source material more than anything else, but this is the second MCU team that is characterized by only having one female in it. Just wish for some more female representation in these things.

Liked the movie, but didn't love it.

Yeah it's a super fun movie but it has a decent chunk of issues.

To be honest, pretty much the only sincere emotional moments I can remember are the intro and

. The comedic emotional moments were probably some of my favorites.

The thing that really gets to me is that even when women are represented in these movies at all, they aren't in the merchandise. Black Widow was notably absent from almost all of the Avengers merch that I cam across (yet Hawkeye was there), and the same thing is reportedly happening with GOTG merch, with Gamora and Nebula both being left out of things like action figure sets.

I also hate the "he sleeps with so many hot girls he forgets their names!" things. So, so, so, so, so much.

Like, I really liked Gamora and Nebula in this movie. It didn't pass the bechdel test, IIRC, since their conversations tended to revolve around Ronan or Thanos, but I still think that they were very well-developed individuals with their own agendas and morals and a really interesting relationship with each other. I would've liked more of that. I would've liked more ladies like that. (I liked Nova Prime too, but she wasn't around much and didn't have a conversation with either of them.) You're right that it is a problem that when it comes to teams like this, Marvel seems to be going "we've got one lady, that'll be plenty". No. No it's not.

Marvel's doing better than DC on that front, but they can still do so much better. C'mon, Marvel. If the market can handle a tree voiced by Vin Diesel, I think it can handle a Black Widow movie.

That doesn't count as a conversation. That was one line out of a conversation where they discussed Nebula's motivations for working with Ronan, therefore it fails.

I finally saw GOTG! it had me crying during the first minutes, and laughing after the marvel bit, talk about an emotionnal rollercoaster...
I don't know if it's because I'm just back from France, or if it's a problem with other people, but at first I had a really hard time understanding some of the characters: Drax, Ronan and Korath (is it an accent thing?), so I missed quite a bit of dialogues!

I also have no idea of what footlose is, or what it is about apart from the film's description of it, so most jokes flew over my head and I couldn't catch them.

Otherwise it was a great experience, very fun, the music helped a lot with that!

It must be you because Drax is one of the easiest to understand.

I caught the first one because it was barely in the credits as such, but thanks for the description of the second one ^^.

@Hime-Chan: I didn't get the Footloose stuff either tbh ^^.

@ProfParanoia: Was it originally cockney or something? Because if they'd have tried that and messed it up things could have been very painful. Although at one point after watching it I couldn't remember what his voice was like in the film and for some reason filled it in with Meowth so idek.
